Job Title: Software Engineering Manager
Location: Remote
Pay Range: $160,000 - $195,000 + Bonus Eligible

- LYNX Mosaic: A software platform that can include a LYNX safety-critical real-time operating system. MOSAI.ic's modular design provides robust support for multicore processing. It allows different operating systems and applications of different criticality levels to be run on separate cores for improved performance, reliability, and security.
- CoreSuite 2.0: A suite of graphics libraries and tools that enable GPU hardware acceleration for both graphics and "GPU Compute", supporting applications such as machine learning and AI processing in edge devices.
- MOSA.ic.SCA and Vigiles, tools that provide Software Bill of Materials (SBOM) and Common Vulnerabilities Exposure (CVE) management for embedded Linux-based and other applications.
- Software development services for high-reliability applications that can include initial setup of a "DevSecOps" development environment, software application development, and long-term product lifecycle management.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of talented software engineers across multiple projects, fostering an environment of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
- Drive engineering execution by balancing technical priorities, customer commitments, and organizational goals.
- Partner with product management and senior leadership to translate business requirements into actionable engineering plans.
- Provide technical guidance and architectural oversight, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, and maintainable.
- Establish and refine best practices for development, testing, CI/CD, and operational excellence.
- Manage project timelines, resource allocation, and delivery milestones, ensuring successful execution of critical programs.
- Champion professional development and career growth for team members through coaching, feedback, and performance management.
- Act as a culture carrier, promoting Lynx’s values of excellence, high assurance, and mission-driven innovation.
- Represent the engineering organization in cross-functional discussions, customer engagements, and industry forums.
- Managing engineers from outsourcing companies, handling global teams in multiple time zones.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field (Master’s preferred).
- 8+ years of professional software development experience, including substantial time in technical leadership or management roles.
- Experience with DO-178C processes and verification.
- Experience participating or managing a program that has went through a safety certification such as DO-178C or ISO26262.
- Demonstrated ability to lead engineering teams delivering complex, safety-critical, or high-assurance systems.
- Strong background in C/C++ and embedded systems, with ability to engage in architectural and design discussions.
- Experience with real-time operating systems, device integration (MIL-STD-1553, ARINC 429, RS232, analog, discrete), and embedded development environments.
- Proven success managing projects in a CI/CD and DevSecOps environment.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to influence technical and business stakeholders.
- A track record of building diverse, high-performing teams and fostering inclusive workplace culture.
