REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

 The Marketing Director, EMEA, reports to the Chief Commercial Officer. The Marketing Director, EMEA, will also report to the EVP of Marketing for guidance on EMEA marketing strategy and to ensure alignment with performance objectives.


SUMMARY OF JOB DESCRIPTION

The Marketing Director, EMEA, is responsible for driving transaction management and customer relationship development within the region. This role has two main functions:

1. Transaction Management Support: Partner with the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) and EMEA-based SVP/VPs to support all phases of the transaction management process, from initial discussions to deal execution, ensuring alignment with company objectives.

2. Customer Relationship Development and Deal Origination: Develop and manage a portfolio of airline relationships, originating and executing transactions in line with company strategy. This includes leading deal teams, working closely with relevant Macquarie personnel, and coordinating with senior leadership, including the CCO, to advance key strategic opportunities.

The Marketing Director takes direction from the SVP Marketing to effectively execute the company's strategic objectives. This position requires expertise in transaction processes, market intelligence, and customer management within the aircraft leasing industry, along with strong collaboration skills to drive successful outcomes.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

Marketing Transactions and Operations:

· Support for SVP/VP Transactions: Assist senior team members with developing Letters of Intent (LOIs) for airlines, maintaining up-to-date records in IT systems, and collaborating with in-house transaction teams to drive seamless transaction processes.

 

Marketing:

Customer Relationship Management:

o   Develop and manage relationships with assigned airline customers in the EMEA region, requiring extensive travel and attendance at key industry conferences and events to maintain and grow the network.

o   Accompany SVP Marketing to key airline meetings and negotiations to facilitate transaction and relationship management and facilitate own learning and development.

Lessor and OEM Relations: Foster connections with lessors and OEMs to gain market intelligence and assist in targeted placements and sale and leaseback (SLB) opportunities.

Deal Origination: Identify and originate SLB, order book placement and remarketing opportunities to support the company's growth objectives.

Market Insights: Monitor and report on market trends, including regular airline call reports with updates on pricing and market dynamics to inform strategy.

Fleet Planning and Strategic Opportunities: Proactively anticipate airline fleet planning needs, identifying new and emerging opportunities beyond core business lines.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities required. 

 

Education & Experience: 

· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. A qualification in business or marketing, together with a post-graduate qualification, is desirable.

· 5+ years’ relevant industry experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Ideally, this experience will have been garnered in a commercial function within an aircraft lessor and/or OEM and will have involved contact with airline customers. The successful candidate will also have worked on aircraft leasing transactions as part of a transaction team and will be universally regarded as a team player.

· Experience in commercial negotiations and face-to-face customer relationship management.

· Experience in transaction management, from origination to execution.

· Knowledge of diverse cultures, and experience working across cultural boundaries, as well as relevant language skills, will be considered an advantage.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

· Strong relationship skills, that demonstrate an ability to develop business relationships and conduct negotiations.

· Transaction management skills, including strategic planning, pricing analysis, technical planning and LOI preparation.

· A team player with a proven ability to diligently manage and collaborate with in-house transaction teams, working across different departments, such as technical and legal.

· A clear understanding of the contractual and technical aspects of aircraft marketing and the principles of the aviation industry.

· Excellent English communication skills, both written and oral, and the ability to operate effectively at all levels, internally and externally. 

·Whilst negotiations are in English, knowledge of relevant languages in EMEA will be considered an advantage.
