Interested in Applying? If so, we'd like to get to know you better. As part of our application process, in addition to applying on our job board, you’ll take a short survey to help us better understand your work preferences and how you like to be managed and communicated with. The survey consists of two parts. For the most accurate results, set aside 15 minutes with no interruptions to read and select all the words that apply to you for the given question. Complete it on a computer, not a tablet or cell phone, for the best experience. At the end, you'll be asked to attach your resume, so please have it ready.

Are you a numbers enthusiast with a passion for driving results? Step into the spotlight as our Project Accountant and become a key financial leader for high-impact fiber installation and construction projects!

In this influential role, you’ll collaborate directly with Project Managers and field teams to ensure every project is profitable, financially sound, and compliant with company standards. Your expertise will keep billing precise, project performance transparent, and financial activity aligned with real-world progress.

As the bridge between operations, management, and corporate accounting, you’ll be at the heart of decision-making and success—empowering teams, safeguarding profitability, and fueling innovation from the ground up.

If you’re proactive, detail-driven, and eager to shape the future of infrastructure, we want you on our team!

What you'll do

  • Collaborate with the Controller and Project Managers to lead WIP management, percent-complete updates, and cost-to-complete forecasting to maintain accurate project status.
  • Work closely with PMs to review job cost reports, resolve discrepancies, and maintain financial accuracy.
  • Ensure billing aligns with contract terms, schedules, and customer requirements, and is submitted on time.
  • Review subcontractor invoices for accuracy, contract compliance, and alignment with actual installed quantities.
  • Train field teams on cost coding, documentation standards, and financial best practices.
  • Partner with PMs to update percent complete, cost-to-complete, revenue projections, and margin forecasts.
  • Support the month-end close through journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and project-specific adjustments.
  • Ensure production quantities, completed work, and change orders are validated and properly documented.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3–7+ years in direct accounting and reporting, job‑costing, revenue recognition (ASC 606), and pricing
  • Experience working with projects where tracking labor, materials, equipment, and overhead projectors is critical.
  • Experience with both large- and small-scale construction projects, ideally in fiber network construction or general construction
  • Comfort working in a fast‑growth startup environment where processes are still being built
  • Experience in fiber network or telecom projects is a plus!
  • PMP or similar project‑management certification is a plus!
  • Must currently reside in North Carolina or South Carolina.
