Job Summary

Registered Medication Aides provide accurate medication administration and quality care to clients and maintain a safe environment under the direction and supervision of a licensed registered nurse.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepping and administering client specific routine and PRN medications as directed.
  • Verifying the right person, drug, dose, route, and time against the Medication Administration Record (MAR).
  • Documenting interventions, vital signs, or other data related to medication administration.
  • Maintaining confidentiality of clients.
  • Reporting to the supervising nurse with any client issues or concerns.
  • Assisting clients with activities of daily life (ADLs), as needed.
  • Performing all other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Education / Credentials

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Registered with the Board of Virginia as a Medication Aide.

Experience

  • Minimum of 6 months of experience in a registered medication aide role.
  • Mental health and residential substance use disorder program experience preferred

Knowledge / Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Able to work independently and with a team

Working Conditions

  • Direct care position
  • Full-time, Part-time, 20-30 hours per week, weekdays and/or weekends vary based on shifts available - inquire to learn more, some holidays
    • Full-time, 7:00am-7:30pm
    • Part-time, 7:00am-7:30pm
