About the Team
At Mainstay, we’ve learned a lot about buying, managing, and selling real estate. The tax team builds products and services to help real estate owners manage their property taxes – the largest non-finance expense in real estate. We currently offer our customers a wide range of services, such as tax bill forecasting, budgeting, bill payment automation, and more. 


Role Responsibilities
The tax team is growing quickly and ready to hire our next product manager. We’re looking for an experienced product lead ready to scale our current products from 1 to 10, develop a deep understanding of user needs, and define our future roadmap. You’ll work closely with our customers and a talented, diverse, and cross-functional team to solve hard problems in the real estate industry. 


You are expected to:


  • Lead user research and customer feedback conversations

  • Define and prioritize our product development roadmap

  • Articulate requirements for API, web and internal product offerings

  • Build strong, collaborative relationship with engineering

  • Partner closely with our business development team on pricing and distribution

  • Identify and lead cross-functional conversations with marketing, legal, and operations


Skills Needed

  • 8+ years of product management or related experience

  • Strong technical background, with either an undergraduate degree in CS or related field, or professional experience as a software engineer

  • Commercial orientation, comfortable interacting directly with potential customers and a basic understanding of enterprise sales

  • Strong written and verbal communications; comfort leading business and technical conversations directly with customers

  • Exceptional judgment; awareness of when and how to make decisions with imperfect information

  • Ownership and willingness to jump into new roles; this could include designing low-fi mockups, writing marketing copy, running customer support, or more.


Compensation and Benefits

Mainstay’s compensation varies by U.S. geographic market to align with local labor costs. For most locations, the annual pay range for this position is $179,200–$252,000, while the base salary range for roles based in the SF Bay Area, Seattle, and New York City Metro area is $224,000–$280,000. Pay is based on location, skills, and experience, and your recruiter will confirm the specific range for your job location. Please note that remote roles are available in all U.S. states except Hawaii, Alaska, Montana, and U.S. Territories.
