About the Opportunity:
We are seeking an IT Director to centralize and streamline IT operations that are currently managed by multiple people. This role is an individual contributor position with broad impact across the organization. You will be responsible for provisioning hardware, software, and equipment; building an inventory and procurement process for new hires and ongoing needs; and ensuring smooth systems administration.
This role also plays a critical part in maintaining SOC 2 compliance and ensuring company-wide policy adherence. Beyond day-to-day operations, the IT Director will have the opportunity to develop and implement technology strategies that align with our mission and support our growth. You will also be responsible for creating and enforcing IT policies, procedures, and best practices, ensuring that our technology environment is secure, scalable, and effective.
What You’ll Do:
Infrastructure & Systems Management
- Oversee administration, provisioning, deployment, security, and optimization of corporate IT systems and assets (Microsoft, Google, Slack, HubSpot, Nutshell)
- Manage endpoint security, access control, and system monitoring to safeguard company data
- Implement and maintain backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans
- Plan and execute updates to systems and equipment, ensuring alignment with technological advances
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, knowledge base articles, and standard operating procedures
- Manage IT service requests, incidents, and escalations, ensuring timely resolution
Security, Compliance & Policy
- Enforce and regularly review IT policies, procedures, and best practices
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, privacy, and security frameworks (SOC 2, GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA)
- Monitor threats and implement security protocols to protect company data
Vendor & Budget Management
- Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with external technology vendors
- Oversee IT budgets, optimize costs, and ensure financial alignment with company goals
Innovation & Strategic Projects
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions that improve efficiency and business performance
- Lead IT-related projects from planning through execution, ensuring timely delivery and ROI
- Collaborate with other departments to align IT services with organizational needs
- Support new hire onboarding/offboarding and oversee equipment procurement
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, Marketing, or a related field
- 7-10 years in technical support or service desk roles
- Strong technical knowledge of cloud operating systems, hardware, software applications, networking concepts, and various IT domains
- Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities to handle complex technical issues and escalations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with clients and colleagues at all levels of the organization
- Ownership-centric mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality service and maintaining client satisfaction
- Proficiency in CRM software and account management tools to manage client relationships and track interactions
- Knowledge of IT service management frameworks (e.g., ITIL) and best practices
- Technical certifications (e.g., PMP or CompTIA Project+) and IT certifications (e.g., CCNA, MCSE, AWS, CompTIA Security+) are advantageous
- Ability to lift and transport moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals
