Martello Re is seeking a Business Manager to join our Investments and Growth & Partnerships (IGP) team to play a key role in developing and executing the teams business plan. Reporting to the Chief Investment Officer, the Business Manager is a key member of the Martello Re team and will be responsible for advancing core business unit strategies and creating optimal connectivity with internal and external stakeholders to support the team’s new business development, portfolio management, growth strategy and cross-functional initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Partner with the team leadership and across the team to create and drive Martello’s IGP business unit strategy, priorities and target operating model
- Partner with the team to deliver on business planning, expense budgeting and reporting
- Assist in the operational buildout to enhance the infrastructure supporting Martello’s investment team and business development needs
- Assist in the management of strategic and tactical projects and plans to improve the current operating model
- Track complex business matters to ensure they are addressed properly and efficiently and keep track of progress until fully resolved
- Ensure effectiveness and efficiency of operational processes while deploying a continuous improvement mid
- Assist in the management of key strategic investment related technology and data vendor relationships
- Other tasks as assigned
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience preferably in investment management/banking/trading business management or operations
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; propensity to challenge thinking, tackle problems and improve processes
- Understanding of enterprise-wide systems, automation solutions and operational best practices
- Candidate must be flexible; team-oriented and have strong administrative skills that include ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to identify root causes of issues and recommend resolutions
- Distill complex materials into summary reports without oversimplifying or missing critical components
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience building strong relationships internally and externally to efficiently drive vision, strategy, initiatives, and goals
- Track record of prioritizing work and managing multiple projects, in addition to the daily workload
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment and can identify interdependencies
- High standards for performance with a continuous improvement mindset
- Ability to work independently and manage ambiguity
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills to interface between technical and non-technical personnel
- Excellent project management and influencing skills with experience leading complex projects and managing deadlines
Supervisory Responsibilities
- This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities but may provide guidance and mentorship to interns and junior team members as needed.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
Location and Travel
