JOB SUMMARY:

The Due Diligence Compliance Team Lead focuses on performance management, quality metrics, escalations, and proactive training for Due Diligence Compliance Analysts; while working to adhere to internal controls to reduce errors and customer complaints.


JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

●        Executes operational directives and strategy while supporting client delivery SLAs.

●        Manages daily production and pipeline of a team QC compliance and compliance analysts while working with Ops Manager for forecasting staffing moves to outstanding projects to eliminate any down time.

●        Responsible for the audits and training from the examination of loan reviews completed by Compliance team.

●        Provide real time feedback pertaining to errors and determining corrective actions.

●        Provide procedures and address issues that may hinder accuracy, timeliness and or deadlines.

●        Ensure regulatory compliance for loans reviewed.

●        Identify trends of errors and escalate to management/legal.

●        Responsive to internal and external customers' needs in a timely, accurate and professional manner.

●        Assists with loan review system testing and enhancement.

●        Acts as a subject matter expert for DD Compliance analyst, assisting with problem solving, issue resolution and loan review guidance.

●        Maintains a high level of confidentiality to protect privacy rights.

●        Adheres to internal controls to reduce errors and customer complaints.

●        Provides coaching, training, and development to staff to ensure company and department goals and key performance indicators (KPIs) are met.

●        Assist in providing guidance on daily matters, such as, questions regarding Underwriting Guidelines or Compliance questions relating to TRID, Reg X, TILA or others.

●        May perform any other job-related duties requested by supervisor or leadership


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:


●       Manages daily production and pipeline of a team DD Compliance QC and analyst while working with Ops Manager for forecasting staffing moves to outstanding projects to eliminate any down time.

●       Responsible for the audits and training from the examination of loan reviews completed.

●       Provide real time feedback pertaining to errors and determining corrective actions.

●        Participates in the recruiting, interviewing, and training of new staff.

●        Oversees the daily workflow of the department.

●        Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.


SKILLS & ABILITIES:

 

●        Understands the credit rating agency requirements, grading and condition clearing processes.

●        In depth knowledge of regulatory compliance, Reg X, Reg Z and state regulations

●        Ability to produce diligence reports, analyze results, identify issues, and take corrective actions

●        Strong leadership skills with the ability and experience to manage people.

●        Effectiveness as a team player.

●        Ability to produce quality work and solve problems strategically.

●        Strong analytical and organizational skills.

 

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE:

 

  • Minimum 5-7 years in mortgage industry within the origination or due diligence space.
  • Minimum 2+ years' experience with emphasis reviewing mortgage loans, initial and final disclosures, and testing for regulatory compliance adherence. Experience in second level reviews; escalations and performance management required
  • Computer Skills: Working knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Previous experience with mortgage due diligence software: LauraMac required
  • Previous experience with Mavent

The pay range for this role is:

40 - 45 USD per hour (Remote (United States))
