As part of our expansion, we are currently looking for a suitably motivated - Quality Technician - to join our group.

What you'll do

Working with our production team, the Quality Technician is responsible for ensuring that all machined parts and components meet strict engineering and customer specifications. This role involves performing detailed mechanical inspections, maintaining quality documentation, identifying non-conformances, and collaborating with machinists and engineers to maintain high

standards of production quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform First Article Inspections (FAI), in-process, and final inspections on precision machined components using hand tools and automated equipment.
  • Utilize precision metrology equipment, including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, optical comparators, thread gauges, and Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and Vision Systems.
  • Interpret complex engineering drawings, and 3D CAD models, with a strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Identify, document, and segregate non-conforming materials. Initiate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and assist in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective/Preventive Actions (CAPA).
  • Maintain, verify, and assist in the calibration schedule of all shop floor inspection tools and measuring equipment.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed inspection records, quality logs, and compliance documentation in the companys Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Work closely with machinists and process engineers to provide feedback on part quality, reduce scrap rates, and optimize manufacturing processes.
  • Ensure adherence to company quality standards and industry-specific regulations (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100).
  • Show flexibility and adaptability to perform other tasks as required by the company.

Who you are

  • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in a quality inspection role within a machining or
  • manufacturing environment.
  • High proficiency in using standard mechanical measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, gauge blocks, pin gauges, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of GD&T and the ability to read complex engineering drawings.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively relay quality issues to the production and design teams.
  • Experience operating or programming CMMs would be beneficial
  • Knowledge of specific AS9100 would be beneficial
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles would be beneficial
