About the role

• We are looking for an Azure Cloud Engineer to join the team! As a key member of the Cloud Operations team, and under the direction of the Director of Cloud Operations, this hands-on role will participate in the deployment, management, and support of MCCi’s diverse cloud environments, including the MCCi corporate network, Managed Cloud, JustFOIA, and GovBuilt brand products.

What you'll do

• Provide expertise to MCCi’s development and operations teams in designing and architecting scalable, secure, and efficient cloud solutions using Microsoft Azure.
• Implement and optimize Azure SQL solutions (Single Database, Elastic Pools, Managed Instances, etc.) tailored to business requirements.
• Manage and maintain cloud infrastructure in accordance with organizational best practices and standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate cloud solutions with existing systems.
• Ensure operational efficiency by providing ongoing management, support, and maintenance for MCCi’s cloud environments, focusing on performance, cost management, and business continuity.
• Design and conduct failover testing and recovery strategies leveraging Azure Site Recovery (ASR) to ensure business continuity.
• Develop and maintain deployment and configuration automation using tools like Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, Bicep, Terraform, Ansible, or other automation frameworks.
• Stay updated on the latest Azure technologies and best practices to drive continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance of cloud solutions with relevant security standards and regulations (CJIS, etc).
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all cloud architectures and processes.
• Provide training and mentorship to team members on Azure best practices and new technologies.
• Implement monitoring solutions to track the performance and health of cloud environments.

What you'll need to be successful

• Proven experience as an Azure Cloud Engineer, Architect or similar role, with a demonstrable depth of understanding of cloud architecture principles, networking, and security within Azure.
• Strong expertise in Azure App Services, Front Door, Azure Site Recovery and Azure SQL solutions (including SQL on VM, SQL Database, and SQL Managed Instance).
• Proficiency in one or more deployment automation and/or configuration management tools (e.g., ARM Templates, Bicep, Terraform, DSC, Ansible).
• Solid knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with Cloudflare services.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively.
• Proven ability to manage multiple project simultaneously and deliver results within deadlines.
• Relevant Azure certifications considered a plus.
