About MCIM

MCIM – The Data Center Operating System (DCOS) is a platform that simplifies the complexities of managing a data center by bringing all functions and locations under one intuitive dashboard.

MCIM started with a commission from a Fortune 100 financial institution to create a cloud computing solution for managing their global critical facilities. The team developed the MCIM platform based on the lessons learned from that project.

Today, MCIM is utilized by Fortune 100 and 500 companies in over 94 countries worldwide. This world-class solution is continuously improved through collaboration with users and industry organizations like The Uptime Institute.

About the Role

We are seeking a Business Analyst to join our Strategic Services team. This is a new function and a first-of-its-kind role, designed to increase sales velocity by providing customers with tailored insights and data-driven value. You’ll play a critical role in pipeline generation and supporting at-risk customers by uncovering the 'why' behind the data and telling compelling stories around efficiency, reliability, and cost.

In this role, you will help define the Business Analyst lifecycle—from requirements gathering through handoff to data and engineering teams—and set the foundation for scalable best practices across the organization.

What You’ll Do

·       Data Collection & Validation: Gather, cleanse, and validate data from multiple customer sources (primarily using SQL in Snowflake) to ensure accuracy and integrity.

·       Strategic Analysis & Insights: Analyze operational, financial, and performance data to uncover trends, patterns, and actionable insights that inform strategic recommendations.

·       Customer Engagement Support: Provide analytical support for customer assessments, operational audits, and value-added consulting engagements.

·       Data Visualization: Build dashboards and reports (using tools such as Tableau or Domo) that clearly communicate findings to internal and external stakeholders.

·       Benchmarking & Market Intelligence: Conduct industry benchmarking and competitive analysis to position MCIM strategically and support business development.

·       Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Customer Success, Sales, and Product teams to translate insights into actionable recommendations aligned with strategic priorities.

·       Continuous Improvement: Recommend enhancements to analytics methodologies, tools, and practices to improve the delivery of strategic services.

What Success Looks Like (First 12 Months)

·       Deliver dashboards showing critical data points (e.g., mean time to failure, maintenance time to first failure).

·       Identify the underlying mechanics behind the data and articulate actionable insights.

·       Define the required 'ingredients' to tell a comprehensive data story around efficiency, reliability, and cost.

·       Establish and document the Business Analyst lifecycle to enable effective handoff to data and engineering teams.

What We’re Looking For

Education:

BS or MS in Data Science, Actuarial Science, or related field.

Experience & Knowledge:

·       SQL scripting experience (Snowflake preferred).

·       Data transformation and insight generation.

·       Strong business and finance acumen (e.g., ROI, CapEx, OpEx).

·       Experience with BI tools (Tableau, Domo, or similar).

·       Background in Data Center/DC tech environments preferred (not required).

·       Open to highly analytical new graduates with strong Actuarial Science backgrounds.

Abilities & Mindset:

·       Passionately curious—approaches data like a detective.

·       Highly analytical and detail-oriented.

·       Strong ability to translate complex topics into clear, actionable insights.

·       Collaborative team player who works effectively across internal and external stakeholders.

Why Join Us?

·       Opportunity to build from 0 → 1 on a first-of-its-kind team.

·       High-impact role influencing customer success, sales velocity, and strategic services.

·       Exposure to cross-functional collaboration across Customer Success, Sales, Product, and Engineering.
