MCIM is seeking a Sr. Accounting Manager to support the financial reporting and accounting operations of a fast-growing SaaS company in the mission-critical infrastructure space.

Reporting to the VP of Finance, this role will be a key leader within our Finance organization, responsible for overseeing the core accounting operations that ensure the accuracy, integrity, and scalability of our financial records as we scale rapidly. You will manage the day-to-day general ledger function, lead the month-end and year-end close processes, and drive the preparation of timely and reliable financial reporting. 

In this role, you will partner cross-functionally with teams across the business and work closely with senior finance leadership and external auditors to maintain strong internal controls and audit readiness. The ideal candidate will bring experience working in SaaS or technology environments, preferably within private-equity backed companies, and will be comfortable operating in a fast-moving, high-growth organization.

This position is fully remote within the United States and offers the opportunity to contribute to the financial foundation of a rapidly scaling company while helping build and mature accounting processes over time.

What You’ll Do
Financial Reporting & Month-End Close

  • Manage key aspects of the monthly financial close process to ensure accurate and timely reporting
  • Prepare and review GAAP-compliant financial statements and supporting schedules
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and maintain detailed documentation supporting financial records
  • Partner with Finance leadership to ensure consistency and accuracy in financial reporting

Accounting Operations

  • Oversee and support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
  • Assist with cash management and treasury activities
  • Maintain strong accounting controls and ensure adherence to internal financial policies
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency within accounting workflows

Automation, Systems, and Technology Integration

  • Identify opportunities to streamline recurring close activities using close management tools, workflow automation, and AI/ML-based reconciliation tool

Team Development & Mentorship

  • Build, mentor, and manage the Staff Accountant
  • Facilitate training, set performance goals, assign tasks, and offer professional growth opportunities.

Systems & Tools

  • Utilize accounting and financial systems to support reporting and operational accuracy, including:
    • QuickBooks
    • FloQast (or similar close management tools
    • Ramp or similar expense management tools
    • Bill.com or comparable AP platforms
  • Leverage Excel to analyze financial data and support reporting processes (SQL skills are a plus)Audit & Compliance
  • Assist with external audits and financial reviews, working with external auditors to provide documentation and support
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies and internal control requirements
  • Support continued development of strong financial processes as the company grows

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CPA preferred
  • 6+ years of accounting experience, ideally within SaaS or technology companies
  • Experience working in private equity or venture-backed environments preferred
  • Strong understanding of GAAP financial reporting and technical accounting principles
  • Experience managing or participating in monthly financial close processes
  • Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems such as QuickBooks
  • Experience working with close management and financial automation tools (FloQast, Blackline, Numeric, etc.)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Supporting successful audit processes with clean and well-organized financial records

The pay range for this role is:

100,000 - 120,000 USD per year (Remote)
