About the Job – People Operations Manager (on-site at our Glen Allen, VA office)
We are looking for a strategic and hands-on People Operations Manager to build a robust talent infrastructure at Fulcrum Collaborations – from the first candidate hello to the final employee goodbye. This role will drive the end-to-end recruitment process, shape a 90-day onboarding program, design competency-based performance management, and enhance learning and development across our growing team to drive retention, promote employee development, and create a talent legacy across the business. This position is ideal for someone with a passion for data-driven HR practices, who thrives in fast-paced tech environments, and who is committed to exceptional employee and candidate experiences.
Responsibilities
- Talent Acquisition - Develop and manage a data-driven talent acquisition process, overseeing the entire recruitment lifecycle hands-on from sourcing to interviewing and hiring.
- Onboarding - Design and implement a 90-day onboarding program to ensure successful integration and ramp-up for all new hires.
- Performance Management - Build and execute a competency-based performance management system to support ongoing feedback, goal setting, and employee development. Conduct an annual organization wide talent assessment to support strategic initiatives.
- Hiring & Retention - Partner with leaders to establish high-quality hiring standards (i.e., scorecards) and retention strategies for high performers.
- HR Tech - Utilize HR technology and automation tools to streamline processes, enhancing the candidate and employee experience.
- Data – Measure current state, improvement ratios, and funnel metrics across the employee lifecycle from day 0 – day final. Measure time to fill, internal promotion rate, employee Net Promoter Score, employee retention, and regrettable versus non-regrettable attrition.
- Coaching – Partner with managers and ELT leaders to coach and guide them on management best practices, communication cadences and styles, performance management, and employee relations challenges and solutions.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in HR, with proven expertise in recruitment, onboarding, and performance management.
- Demonstrated success in building HR programs from scratch, ideally within small, high-growth tech companies.
- Strong data analysis skills to assess and optimize HR processes and KPIs, with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Proficient in HR technology and automation tools including HRIS, ATS, and Performance Management systems. FYI - We are a Rippling HR tech shop.
- High level of initiative and strong task and project management skills. If you know how to use Monday.com, Asana, or a similar platform, that is a big plus.
- Exceptional communication skills with a commitment to delivering memorable candidate and employee experiences.
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, related field, or equivalent experience.
