About the Role

We are seeking a Credit Manager to lead and evolve the credit function at Morris & Dickson. This is a high-impact role within our accounting and finance organization, responsible for protecting the company’s financial position while enabling responsible, scalable growth.


In this role, you’ll apply strong judgment, financial acumen, and cross-functional partnership to oversee customer credit, onboarding, structured agreements, and risk mitigation. Working closely with Sales, Accounts Receivable, Legal, and Finance, you’ll help balance customer experience with disciplined credit practices.


This role is ideal for someone who thrives on ownership, operates with a proactive mindset, and approaches credit as both a control function and a strategic business partner.


Location

This role is open to candidates based in Shreveport or remote, ideally in Dallas or a comparable market nearby.


What You’ll Do

Evaluate new and existing customers to determine appropriate credit limits and payment terms

Analyze financial statements, credit reports, and trade data to assess and manage risk exposure

Approve, document, and maintain credit decisions in alignment with company policy

Partner with Sales to balance customer experience with disciplined credit practices

Lead the credit component of customer onboarding, ensuring accurate, timely account setup

Draft, negotiate, and manage promissory notes and structured payment agreements in partnership with Legal

Monitor agreement performance, track obligations, and escalate issues proactively

Guide collections strategy for escalated accounts and partner with AR on disputes and resolution paths

Maintain aging reports, credit exposure summaries, and bad debt forecasts to inform decision-making

Identify process improvements, ensure compliance with policies and regulations, and build scalable credit practices

Risk exposure is proactively managed with minimal surprises

Promissory notes and payment agreements are clear, effective, and actively monitored

Credit processes are efficient, compliant, and scalable

Stakeholders experience credit as a collaborative, solutions-oriented partner


What You’ll Need to Succeed

7+ years of experience in credit, collections, or financial risk management

Strong financial analysis skills with the ability to assess and make sound credit decisions

Experience managing structured agreements (e.g., promissory notes, payment plans)

Proven ability to partner cross-functionally with Sales, Finance, AR, and Legal

High judgment, attention to detail, and ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred

NACM certification (CBA, CBF) and/or relevant industry experience a plus
