Role Overview

Are you detail-oriented with a passion for compliance and regulatory oversight? Do you thrive in investigative roles that help ensure public safety in pharmaceutical distribution? Join our team as Compliance Specialist II, where you’ll play a vital role in maintaining our controlled substance compliance program. You’ll be responsible for customer due diligence, investigating flagged orders, ensuring regulatory compliance, and working closely with pharmacy personnel to uphold industry standards.


Reporting to the Vice President of Compliance, the Compliance Specialist II will ensure adherence to pharmaceutical regulations through due diligence, investigations, and industry best practices.


Conduct customer due diligence and investigate flagged orders.

Communicate with pharmacy personnel via email and phone to fulfill “Know Your Customer” obligations.

Maintain and update state and federal licensures.

Analyze controlled substance orders for potential diversion trends and recommend actions.

Ensure timely reporting of suspicious orders to the DEA and state agencies.

Perform site visits and audits to ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.

Remain current on industry trends and best practices to enhance our Suspicious Order Monitoring (SOM) program.

Audit and verify customer licenses to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.


Requirements

  • Exceptional analytical, investigative, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Capability to challenge and escalate compliance concerns professionally while fostering positive working relationships.
  • Comprehensive understanding of pharmaceutical compliance regulations and industry best practices.
  • In-depth knowledge of DEA regulations and controlled substance compliance requirements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a professional approach.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word for data analysis and reporting.
  • A high school diploma is required; additional regulatory affairs or compliance education is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A degree in Regulatory Affairs, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Legal Studies, or a related field is preferred, as well as
  • Experience in pharmaceutical compliance, regulatory affairs, or legal investigations is highly valued, with backgrounds in pharmacy operations or paralegal work being a decisive advantage.

The pay range for this role is:

55,000 - 69,992 USD per year (Shreveport, Louisiana)
