Overview:

Measurabl Engineering is execution focused and customer obsessed. The Staff Engineer solves problems of the highest complexity and scope for Measurabl’s Engineering department. This role exerts significant influence on the objectives, goals, and technical direction of the team. The Staff Engineer is responsible for creating and applying technical and domain expertise to Measurabl’s products and problems.


Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

The essential functions and responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to, the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed. 


Development

  • Participate in architecture design and contribute to long-term technical strategy
  • Partner with stakeholders to refine features, work definitions, and requirements 
  • Take technical and executional ownership of large facets of a project, or a complete project, and guide a team in delivering that project without oversight
  • Perform feasibility studies to validate capability and functionality
  • Debug advanced software issues; determine the root cause and provide a fix without collateral damage
  • Create technical and domain expertise and apply that to Measurabl products and problems
  • Provide ongoing support and maintenance for live systems


Collaboration

  • Partner with Engineering leadership in setting strategic technical and organizational direction
  • Provide mentorship to development team members to develop team skills and ensure Measurabl delivers the best possible product to our customers
  • Partner with Engineering managers and teams to improve on existing software or design new applications
  • Regularly introduce new tools, concepts, and best practices that improve and drives the department forward
  • Participate in team code reviews and provide thoughtful commentary and assistance where needed
  • Provide recommendations to management for improving documentation and software development process standards 
  • Participate in solving department-wide initiatives and problems with Principal Engineers, Engineering managers, and leadership team

  • 8+ years of experience as an Engineer in a professional setting
  • A portfolio of work that demonstrates ability to develop, release, and operate a suite of web applications
  • Experience leading medium to large software development projects
  • A combination of professional or educational experience (whether formal or informal) that affords you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities above
