About the role

As Medallion’s Business Development Director, your scope will span from long term business planning to immediate operational improvements for top of the funnel development. You will have the opportunity to drive revenue by setting a strategic plan through implementing new processes while also building relationships with departmental leads. This is a leadership position that will play a critical role in building and evolving our overall GTM strategy. 

You will be responsible for leading and overseeing the day-to-day operations of our BDR team, driving process improvements, and ensuring alignment with sales and marketing teams to achieve revenue goals. We’re looking for a leader who’s a customer-focused leader. You’re a critical thinker who has a record of exceeding sales growth goals. 

This role reports to the VP of Revenue & GTM and base compensation may land between $160,000-$225,000 ($230K-325K OTE - 70/30 variable component). In addition to salary, Medallion offers equity, bonus, and benefits as part of the total compensation package. Many factors are considered when determining pay including: market data, geographic location, skills, qualifications, experience, and level.

What you'll do

  • Develop and inspire a team of high-performing Business Development Representatives (BDRs) by creating scalable, data driven processes that drive team and company goals

  • Evaluate, help create and execute playbooks, processes and systems needed to support and scale a hyper-growth team

  • Test and refine growth and pipeline strategies through data, segment-specific value drivers, and collaboration with sales leadership

  • Develop strong internal partnerships and collaborate cross functionally to maximize revenue opportunities to improve pipeline generation

  • Contribute to BDR and Field Sales Enablement that is focused on messaging, prospect generation and BDR/AE partnerships

  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the target market, including industry, company and project specifics, internal contacts and decision-makers, and the sales techniques and strategies most likely to resonate with each of them

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience working in B2B sales development, ideally within an enterprise SaaS environment
  • 4+ years of experience directly managing business development sales teams
  • Proven track record of leading and building successful, collaborative, and high performing business/sales development representatives

  • Sales methodology experience, preferably Command of the Message and/or MEDDIC

  • Prior background in a dynamic growth environment such as a venture backed startup, fast-growing technology company, or enterprise SaaS business

  • Experience managing and improving BDR's key performance indicators

  • Proficiency in Salesforce and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is a must

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment
