About the role
We are seeking a Senior Manager – Licensing to lead and manage a high-performing team responsible for medical licensing operations. This role requires an experienced professional with deep expertise in medical licensing, strong leadership skills, and the ability to drive operational efficiency while ensuring compliance with state medical board requirements. The ideal candidate will bring strategic thinking, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive approach to improving processes and team performance.
Work Location & Mode:
This role is based in Hyderabad and requires the candidate to work from the office.
What you'll do
- Leadership & Team Management:
- Lead, mentor, and oversee a team of Team Leads, SMEs, and Managers to ensure efficiency, compliance, and service excellence.
- Conduct weekly 1:1 meetings with team leads to review agent performance, provide coaching, and offer constructive feedback.
- Establish work direction, priorities, and daily schedules to maintain workflow efficiency and ensure seamless operations.
- Accountable for hiring, onboarding, and training new team members to build a strong and skilled workforce.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team.
- Operational Excellence & Compliance:
- Monitor Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and performance metrics to ensure targets are met or exceeded.
- Oversee licensing files and workflows, stepping in as needed to maintain productivity and meet business demands.
- Evaluate and introduce new license types to expand service offerings and enhance operational capabilities.
- Proactively identify, develop, and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Strategic Planning & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Analyze the licensing pipeline and forecast staffing needs to ensure team scalability and responsiveness.
- Address and resolve client escalations with a proactive, solution-oriented approach.
- Assist in preparing and delivering licensing updates for clients, ensuring transparency and regulatory compliance.
- Develop clear and actionable communication for providers, ensuring timely responses and professional interactions.
- Problem-Solving & Decision-Making:
- Utilize logic, collaboration, and critical thinking to break down complex operational challenges and develop effective solutions.
- Prioritize tasks based on business impact and strategic objectives, aligning initiatives with company goals.
- Support the team in understanding how daily responsibilities contribute to broader organizational success.
- Build and sustain strong relationships through effective communication and collaboration, even in situations involving conflicting viewpoints.
Qualifications
- 12+ years of full-time experience in medical licensing with deep expertise in MD/DO licensing.
- 8+ years of experience managing teams in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Proven expertise in state medical board requirements and a strong understanding of licensing across multiple states.
- Experience working with Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) and Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) is preferred.
- Strong ability to articulate next steps and action items required of providers with clarity and professionalism.
- Demonstrated ability to handle client escalations, process improvements, and workflow optimization.
- Experience with multiple license types is a plus (e.g., PharmD, OD, NP, RN, LCSW), but MD/DO expertise is a requirement.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage, mentor, and lead teams effectively.
