About the role

As Medallion’s Credentialing-Privileging Specialist, you will play a crucial role within our Privileging team. Our Privileging Team is core to our business and is responsible for ensuring that providers are credentialed and privileged efficiently and accurately. We're looking for optimistic self-starters who excel both independently and in team environments. Compensation for this role is between $19 - $27 depending on location and level.


What you'll do

  • Complete thorough and timely primary source verifications (PSVs) for education, training, licenses, work history, board certifications, and other credentialing elements as required by each facility.
  • Prepare and submit initial appointment and reappointment applications to hospitals and healthcare facilities, ensuring accuracy and completeness
  • Communicate professionally with hospital Medical Staff Offices and credentialing departments to follow up on application statuses and resolve any outstanding items.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of all submitted documents, verifications, and facility communications within Medallion’s systems.
  • Adhere to timelines and deadlines associated with hospital-specific credentialing processes and internal SLAs.
  • Monitor upcoming expirations and reappointment cycles to proactively initiate the renewal process.
  • Review and interpret documentation provided by providers to ensure it meets hospital and regulatory requirements.
  • Complete thorough and timely primary source verifications (PSVs) for education, training, licenses, work history, board certifications, and other credentialing elements as required by each facility.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience privileging providers 
  • Experience submitting files in accordance with Joint Commission standards
  • Experience conducting primary source verifications (PSV) for various aspects of provider history and aligning them across records.
  • Familiarity with state-specific credentialing requirements
  • Previous experience working for a CVO (Credentials Verification Organization)
  • Experience working in a team environment
  • High attention to detail including effective communications at all organizational levels
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to adhere to timelines and SLA metrics
  • Expertise in using GSuites tools include GSheets, GDocs, and GMail
  • Experience working at a startup is a bonus
