About the role
We’re seeking a Vice President of Sales with a proven track record in enterprise imaging and a passion for scaling in a high-growth, venture-backed environment. This is not an “office-only” leadership role — we need someone who can shape the strategy, coach the team, and jump into the field when needed. You’ll lead and develop a talented, diverse sales team of six, driving both short-term wins and long-term market expansion in healthcare provider and life sciences sectors.
What you'll do
- Design and execute a scalable, repeatable, and predictable sales strategy for health systems and life sciences.
- Lead, coach, and expand a high-performing 6-person sales team, tailoring support to varied levels of experience.
- Actively engage in enterprise-level deal cycles, from initial targeting through negotiation and close.
- Build a robust pipeline and implement accurate, real-time revenue and KPI reporting in Salesforce.
- Partner cross-functionally with Marketing, Product, and Customer Success to align GTM efforts and accelerate growth.
- Provide market intelligence and competitive insights to inform product roadmap and positioning.
- Own sales compensation plan design and administration.
- Represent Medicom at industry events, conferences, and customer engagements.
- Maintain strong relationships with senior decision-makers at major health systems, research institutions, and life sciences companies.
- Travel to support sales team and customer activity (50%).
Qualifications
- 8+ years of sales and sales leadership in healthcare IT software, with direct experience in enterprise imaging solutions.
- Proven ability to scale teams and revenue in a start-up or high-growth, VC/PE-backed company.
- Successful track record leading complex, multi-stakeholder enterprise sales to healthcare providers and/or life sciences.
- Skilled at managing and motivating diverse experience levels within a sales team.
- Data-driven approach with expertise in Salesforce and pipeline analytics.
- Strategic thinker with a hands-on leadership style — equally comfortable in the boardroom and in the field.
- Thrives in fast-changing environments and can navigate ambiguity.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree a plus.
The pay range for this role is:
175,000 - 200,000 USD per year (Raleigh Office (HQ))
