It is a non-partisan think tank providing expert policy analysis, educational and professional development services, and a hub for engaging with the region's arts and culture.

Position Summary

The Multimedia and Digital Operations Manager will lead the Middle East Institute’s digital infrastructure, ensuring high-quality web content, email marketing, video and podcast workflows, and digital analytics. This role bridges strategy and execution, providing vital technical and creative support to elevate MEI’s digital presence. The ideal candidate combines project management skills with technical fluency in web, audio/video, and design workflows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage MEI’s website content operations and coordinate with vendors on design updates, UX improvements, and troubleshooting.
  • Design and send newsletters, manage lists, and track engagement metrics using Salesforce Account Engagement (formerly Pardot), including design, development of templates, management of list segmentation and analytics.
  • Produce podcasts and video series, working closely with internal staff and freelance editors as needed.
  • Oversee Audio/Visual system and equipment, operating AV for in-person and hybrid events, providing staff training, and planning system maintenance and upgrades in coordination with outside AV vendors.
  • Analyze and report on website, social, and email engagement using Google Analytics and platform dashboards.
  • Lead graphic design projects, including drafting marketing collateral, laying out reports, signage, etc., utilizing Adobe Creative Suite and Canva, and enforcing institutional branding and style guidelines.
  • Document events and capture still images.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 4–6 years of experience in digital communications, preferably in a nonprofit or think tank environment.
  • Proficiency with website CMS (Drupal or WordPress), HTML and CSS basics, and email marketing platforms (Salesforce/Pardot or similar).
  • Experience managing podcast and video content pipelines including recording and editing.
  • Skilled in the use of AV equipment and technology.
  • Willing to work in fast-paced news cycles when responding to geopolitical developments.
  • Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Fluency in Adobe Creative Cloud (especially InDesign, Illustrator, Premiere, Audition) is a must.
  • Experience with professional photography, videography, and graphic design.
