Position Overview:
Reporting to the Vice President of Policy, the Israel Program Director is responsible for the strategic development, implementation, and management of the Israel Program at the Middle East Institute. This role involves coordinating with various stakeholders, ensuring program quality, and achieving the organization's mission and goals.
MEI seeks a full-time program Director based in Washington, DC, to oversee all aspects of program operations, including planning, execution, monitoring, evaluation, and managing budgets.
Perform thorough, impartial, and top-notch policy research on Israel and the broader Middle East region.
Strategic Planning: Develop and implement a strategic plan for the Israel program that aligns with the organization's mission and goals.
Execution: Oversee the program's execution, ensuring timely delivery within scope and budget.
Quality Assurance: Maintain high program quality and effectiveness standards through continuous monitoring and improvement.
Partnership Building: Establish relationships with key stakeholders, including community leaders, educational institutions, government agencies, and partner organizations.
Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for all the program inquiries and communications.
Collaboration: Work collaboratively with internal and external partners to enhance program reach and impact.
Budgeting: Develop and manage program budgets, allocating financial resources effectively.
Fundraising: Identify funding opportunities and assist in fundraising, including grant writing and donor engagement.
Financial Reporting: Monitor program expenditures and prepare financial reports for senior management and funders.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., International Relations, Jewish Studies, Nonprofit Management). Master’s degree preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in program management, focusing on Israel-related programs or similar fields.
Skills: Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Proficiency in project management tools and software.
Knowledge: Deep understanding of Israel’s cultural, political, and social landscape. Familiarity with the Jewish community and related issues.
Language: Proficiency in Hebrew and English. Additional languages are a plus.
