We’re seeking a Director of Strategic Communications to serve as MEMA’s public affairs communications strategist and operational lead, helping elevate the voice of the automotive supplier industry in Washington and beyond.
This is a hybrid role based in Washington, D.C. or Southfield, MI, or surrounding areas. Preference will be given to individuals in proximity to MEMA’s Washington, D.C. office.
The Opportunity:
The Director of Strategic Communications is a high-impact, player-coach leadership role at the intersection of public affairs, advocacy, and enterprise communications.
This role will serve as MEMA’s public affairs communications strategist and operational lead, working in close collaboration with the government affairs team to help advance the association’s policy priorities through compelling messaging, disciplined execution, and strong external positioning.
Partnering closely with the Corporate Vice President, Strategy & Communications and the Senior Vice President of Government Affairs, you will shape how MEMA shows up in the policy ecosystem, guiding communications that influence decision-makers, elevate member priorities, and reinforce MEMA’s leadership across the mobility landscape.

What You’ll Bring:
This position is a hybrid role based in Washington, DC or Southfield, MI. The salary range for this role is $125,000 to $140,000, based on experience and qualifications.
