Overview
The Vice President of Credit Card Program Services is responsible for providing strategic leadership, implementation oversight, and operational management of Full-Service credit card programs for credit union partners. This executive leader serves as a key liaison between Sales, Product, Operations, and Client Services, ensuring successful program launches, seamless onboarding, and exceptional service delivery throughout the lifecycle of each Full-Service credit card program.
This role plays a critical part in the successful execution of complex client implementations, including program design, technical integration, regulatory alignment, and operational readiness. The Vice President partners closely with credit union leadership to develop and execute Full-Service credit card program strategies that support lending objectives, enhance member experience, and drive long-term portfolio performance.
The Vice President also oversees the ongoing management and optimization of Full-Service credit card portfolios, including product development, pricing strategy, and performance monitoring across key metrics such as risk, utilization, and profitability. This leader maintains strong relationships with credit card processors, payment networks, core system providers, and technology vendors to ensure reliable, scalable, and cost-effective program operations.
Through strong operational leadership and deep expertise in credit card products, the Vice President will drive process improvements, strengthen delivery frameworks, and ensure that MAP’s credit card program services continue to deliver exceptional value to both credit union partners and their members.
Role and Responsibilities
In this position, you will establish a standard for excellence in the following crucial areas:
Client Implementation & Delivery
- Lead complex, customized credit card program implementations from pre-sale through post- launch transition.
- Develop and execute comprehensive project plans, ensuring on-time, high-quality delivery.
- Manage end-to-end product setup, documentation, testing, certification, and user training.
- Oversee terminal, gateway, and backend system integrations.
- Ensure delivery excellence by applying strong product knowledge to guide clients through feature selection, configuration, and operational readiness.
- Translate product capabilities into actionable implementation requirements and delivery milestones.
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary implementation contact for clients and internal partners.
- Participate in pre-sales meetings to articulate program capabilities.
- Conduct client site visits and deliver implementation presentations as needed.
- Facilitate smooth transition to Client Services post-implementation.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with credit card partners/processors, payment networks, and technology vendors to ensure high-quality, cost-effective service.
- Advise clients on product functionality, delivery timelines, and best practices to ensure successful adoption and long-term performance.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure adherence to PCI DSS, NACHA, Visa/Mastercard rules, AML/KYC, BSA, Patriot Act, and related regulatory standards.
- Support clients in aligning internal policies and procedures for compliance.
- Identify and escalate risks proactively during implementation.
- Incorporate product-specific compliance requirements into delivery plans and client guidance.
Operational Excellence & Process Improvement
- Identify automation and efficiency opportunities within onboarding processes.
- Share client feedback with Product Management to help improve our products.
- Conduct post-implementation reviews and resolve service delivery issues.
- Optimize business processes, tools, and resources to improve efficiency, member experience, and service delivery.
- Collaborate with Product teams to refine delivery frameworks based on product enhancements and client needs.
Leadership
- Lead and mentor implementation and program delivery teams, establishing clear expectations, accountability, and a culture of operational excellence.
- Define and execute with the credit union their credit card program strategy, ensuring alignment with the credit union’s overall lending and member service goals.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration across Sales, Product, and Operations.
- Promote a culture of accountability, compliance, and client-first service.
- Champion delivery excellence and product knowledge development across the implementation organization.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in credit card payment processing, program implementation, product management, or operational leadership.
- Demonstrated experience balancing complex implementation delivery with deep product knowledge in credit card programs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field.
- Project management or product management certifications preferred.
- CTP, NAPCP, or other industry certifications are considered a plus.
Technical Expertise
- Strong knowledge of payment processing platforms, API integrations, and certification processes.
- Understanding of funds flows, interchange economics, and card network rules.
- Comprehensive understanding of credit card product features, operational workflows, and delivery dependencies.
