Position Summary

The Central Ministries Project Manager will help in bringing hope to everyone by creating and facilitating unforgettable moments of wonder that lead to life change for both the believer and the skeptic alike. The Project Manager enables the Central Ministries at Menlo (Creative, NextGen, Spiritual Formation & Operations) to accomplish their role, ensuring each department of the central ministries team completes projects smoothly and efficiently.


The Central Ministries Project Manager reports directly to the Executive Pastor of Ministries 


Essential Functions

  • Serve as Project Manager for the Central Ministries Team: Spiritual Formation ( Groups & Adult Discipleship), NextGen (Children, Elementary, Middle School, HighSchool) Creative (Design, Film, Print & Environments) , College & Operations (HR, IT, Facilities & Finance) 
  • Work as a cohesive unit with Central Ministries, campus staff and other stakeholders.  
  • Enable the Central Ministries Team to accomplish Menlo-aligned goals and projects. 
  • Maintain ongoing administrative functions: Managing project budgets, purchasing and ordering  project assets and deliverables, maintaining receipts and process expense reports through Rippling.
  • Facilitate weekly updates on project statuses.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships by living out our staff values and maintaining good standing as an employee by actively participating  in the life of the church - being a member, not just an employee. 
  • Additional duties and special projects as assigned by the Executive Pastor of Ministries. 
  • Ensure effective communication, tracking and completion of projects on time by evaluating risk, importance and urgency to meet deadlines. 
  • Manage PCO (Planning Center Online) workflows and Data Hygiene.
  • Participate in Annual Ministry Map planning and execution of organizational goals. 

Professional Qualifications

  • 3+ years of project management or coordination experience in a church, nonprofit, or mission-driven organization.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with diverse teams and managing multiple concurrent projects.
  • Strong working knowledge of project management tools (Asana, Planning Center Online & Google workspace). 

Knowledge and Skills 

  • Team player with a focus on the vision of the whole church 
  • Experience working with people from different cultures 
  • Ability to recruit, develop, and multiply high-capacity volunteers 
  • Ability to communicate effectively in front of small and large groups 
  • Strong written communication skills 
  • Ability to manage details and multiple projects at the same time 
  • High Emotional Intelligence (EQ) 
  • Positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills 
  • Avid learner who is teachable 
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace, Asana, and Planning Center Online (PCO) 

Education and Experience 

  • College degree or equivalent certification in project management
  • Equivalent experience actively working in ministry, as staff or volunteer (multi-site context preferred) 
  • Experience overseeing and developing others 
  • Demonstrated experience recruiting volunteers 

Physical 

  • Proficient communication, able to speak clearly and be understood by others.
  • Identifying and understanding the speech of another person. Stand or sit for prolonged amounts of time
  • Walk, bend, twist, and kneel
  • Finger and hand dexterity to operate computer and office equipment 
  • Lift and carry up to 20 pounds with or without assistance 

Spiritual 

  • Live out their personal relationship with Jesus Christ by growing more in His likeness, eager to share and see others come to know true hope.
  • Demonstrate active engagement as a member of Menlo Church by: Regularly attending and inviting others to services, connecting in community through groups, volunteering in a ministry, and committing to giving to the mission and vision of Menlo Church.

Work Conditions 

  • Days and hours of work are generally business hours Sunday-Thursday. This role is Part Time
  • This job typically operates in a professional office & church environment with standard office equipment such as computers, printers, and telephones. There are also instances when the role will include off site visits to meet volunteers and congregation members.

The pay range for this role is:

30 - 40 USD per hour (menlo park)
