Position Summary

The Seniors Ministry Director at the Menlo Park Campus will help bring hope to everyone by equipping the people of Menlo church to live out their identity in Christ every day. The Seniors Ministry Director will provide pastoral care, visitation, and Bible Study teaching for the senior community at the Menlo Park Campus. The Seniors Ministry Director works cohesively with the Menlo Park campus team to guide, shepherd, care for, and equip our strong senior community toward a deeper faith and involvement in the mission of Menlo Church. This position reports directly to the Campus Pastor and is part of the Menlo Park Campus Team.  


Essential Functions

  • Embody a deep inner spiritual life that can help congregants understand what an ongoing and lifelong pursuit of being formed into the image of Jesus looks like.
  • Be a regular presence at the legacy (8:30) worship service and proactively build strong relationships with seniors at the Menlo Park campus.
  • In collaboration with the Associate Campus Pastor, regularly teach the existing Sunday morning and Wednesday morning Bible studies with a focus on seniors; arrange for other teachers as needed. Cultivate volunteers from the group to assist with the Bible Studies as greeters and in other ways.
  • Create and implement a plan to visit those in retirement communities and those who are homebound.
  • Be available to make hospital visits as needed on short notice. 
  • Assist with or officiate memorial services as needed.  
  • Attend campus staff meetings, All-staff gatherings, and other training and meetings as  required. 
  • Additional duties and special projects as assigned by the Campus Pastor, Menlo Park.


Qualifications

  • College degree (ministry, biblical & theological studies preferred) or equivalent experience working in ministry, either on staff or as a volunteer.


Knowledge and Skills

  • Ability to communicate & effectively lead in front of small and large groups
  • Strong written communication skills 
  • Ability to manage details and multiple projects at the same time
  • High Emotional Intelligence (EQ) 
  • Positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills 
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace, Asana, and Planning Center Online (PCO) 


Work Conditions

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard. 
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work.
  • Light to moderate lifting may be required.
  • Regular, predictable attendance is required to meet with the public and team as business demands dictate.

The pay range for this role is:

25 - 40 USD per hour (Menlo Park)
