About the role

This is a salaried, part-time, remote Medical Director (Physician) position for Consciousabraxas, a Florida-based telehealth behavioral health organization. The Medical Director provides physician-level clinical governance, quality, safety, and regulatory oversight. The position does not automatically include direct patient care; any direct-care duties must be separately assigned, credentialed, scheduled, and documented.

Core Responsibilities

• Provide physician-level oversight for clinical policies, standards, quality, patient safety, and risk management.

• Support clinician credentialing, scope-of-practice, and competency oversight.

• Support alignment with Florida Medicaid, payer, telehealth, HIPAA, and other applicable requirements.

• Provide consultation on complex governance and escalation matters when physician-level oversight is warranted.

• Collaborate with the Clinical Director and executive leadership.

• Perform direct patient care only when separately assigned and appropriately credentialed.

Required Qualifications

• MD or DO degree.

• Active, unrestricted Florida physician license.

• Appropriate board certification or substantial relevant clinical experience.

• Active Florida Medicaid enrollment when required for the assigned scope.

• Clinical leadership experience.

• Ability to lead HIPAA-conscious telehealth workflows.

Position Details

• Employment: Salaried, part-time.

• Compensation: To be prorated based on the agreed FTE and final approved compensation.
