✨ Who We Are
Meroka is building the future of independent medicine in the United States. We provide operations, finance, tech, and strategic support to physician-owned practices-helping them grow sustainably and with soul. This is in addition to support for physicians transitioning ownership to the employees of the business.
We believe in clear communication, practical systems, thoughtful design, and long-term thinking. Our tone is warm, grounded, and confident-but never corporate or clinical.
❌ This Role Is Not for You If…
- You prefer a high volume, low touch environment instead of building lasting relationships with patients
- You want a corporate or hospital system role with little autonomy or ownership
- You do not value collaborative, team based care with advanced practice providers, nurses, and staff
- You are uncomfortable working in a practice that is transitioning to an employee ownership model
- You are looking for a short term role rather than a long term home
✅ What You’ll Do
- Provide comprehensive cardiology and interventional care, including preventive visits, diagnostic testing, and management of complex cardiovascular conditions
- Perform and interpret procedures such as echocardiograms, stress testing, catheterizations, and interventional treatments (based on training and expertise)
- Partner with advanced practice providers, nurses, and staff to deliver coordinated, patient centered care
- Participate in a shared call rotation that balances continuity of care with physician work life integration
- Contribute to practice meetings, clinical quality initiatives, and service line growth
- Learn directly from Dr. Sunder, gaining mentorship in both clinical excellence and practice leadership
- At just 33, Dr. Sunder helped establish the Antelope Valley’s first Intensive Care Unit, Coronary Care Unit, Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, and Cardiovascular Surgery Program, transforming heart care access for a community of only 40,000 at the time. Over the next five decades, he combined advanced clinical expertise with a deep commitment to underserved populations, from Vietnam veterans to rural patients and retired naval officers from China Lake. Today, his practice continues to deliver comprehensive cardiology services under one roof including echocardiography, stress testing, vascular imaging, nuclear studies, and mobile telemetry ensuring patients receive cutting-edge diagnostics and personalized treatment close to home.
- Play an active role in shaping the culture and operations of the practice as part of the employee ownership model
- This is a rare chance for a cardiologist who not only wants to grow a thriving practice but also feels called to serve an underserved community, expanding access to advanced cardiovascular care in the Antelope Valley and Ridgecrest while building on Dr. Sunder’s legacy of mission-driven medicine.
🧠 We’re Looking For Someone Who…
- Is board certified or board eligible in Cardiology (interventional preferred)
- Holds or is eligible for a medical license in the relevant jurisdiction
- Values autonomy, teamwork, and long term patient relationships
- Communicates clearly and empathetically with patients and colleagues
- Thrives in an independent practice setting with strong administrative support
- Wants to build a long term career in a physician owned and physician led environment
- Is excited by opportunities to learn from Dr. Sunder, contribute to service line growth, and participate in innovation pilots
💰 What We Offer
- Competitive compensation and health benefits
- Flexible scheduling options (full time or part time)
- Mentorship and professional development directly from Dr. Sunder
- Participation in an employee ownership model where every team member shares in the value they help create
- Operational and administrative support through Meroka so you can focus on patient care
- A practice culture that prioritizes joy in medicine, mutual respect, and long term sustainability
