About the role
Mile Marker is seeking a Vice President, Director of Strategy to shape business-driving consumer and media strategies, and deliver measurable impact for our existing and prospective clients. This leader will serve as a trusted advisor to senior clients and internal stakeholders, with a strong focus on research, consumer insights, consumer journeys and comms planning. Understanding the role of media across the a full funnel strategy is a centerpiece of this role. The ideal candidate thrives in a hands-on, entrepreneurial environment, and is eager to help inform both culture and business driving strategies and deliver measurable impacts across our existing portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
Subject Matter Expertise
- Serve as the senior strategic partner for existing and prospective clients, supporting and/or leading business and media strategy conversations.
- Lead the research and strategy development leveraging existing agency technology and tools to create and deliver items such as consumer insights and personas, consumer journeys and comms plans.
- Consumer journey mapping across the full funnel identifying the role of media across comms planning.
- Help translate client briefs into unique and actionable strategies and executional plans that drive measurable business growth.
- Work across client teams and COE to elevate Mile Marker's strategic position on business outcomes in addition to media outcomes.
- Identify and cultivate opportunities for organic and agency growth.
- Partner with the Analytics team to enhance and adopt our tools and technology to drive innovation and adoption and integration of AI.
Strategic Development & Delivery
- In collaboration with the Client Solutions team lead, develop big-picture strategies that connect client goals with actionable marketing, media, and creative plans, ensuring full funnel development and role of media in the consumer journey.
- Lead client engagements to align and agree on strategy, learning agenda, etc.
- Translate briefs into strategies that span brand, media, digital, content, and social channels; ensure consistency across touchpoints.
- Partner with client solutions, media, analytics, and creative teams to deliver integrated solutions across channels.
- Provide thought leadership on consumer behavior, media and industry trends, cultural insights, emerging tools and platforms to inform and inspire.
- Develop and share internal trainings to help build and deepen this practice area across the Client Solutions team.
- Partner with senior leadership and the growth team on research and strategy for new business pitches.
- Elevate Waypoint, our operating system, for strategic business purposes.
Team Collaboration
- Serve as a subject matter expert in collaboration with internal and external teams, setting a high bar for strategic excellence.
- Contribute to new business development by shaping proposals, presenting strategic thinking, and supporting agency positioning.
- Collaborate with internal teams to define best practices and frameworks for client engagement, campaign development, and performance optimizations.
- Foster a collaborative culture that balances creativity, accountability, and results.
Qualifications
- 12+ years of experience in strategy roles within media.
- Proven track record of leading client strategy at the VP level or equivalent.
- Strong expertise in media planning, omnichannel campaigns, or brand strategy; healthcare/vertical knowledge a plus.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills with experience influencing C-suite stakeholders.
- Ability to balance high-level vision with tactical detail; skilled at moving from insight to execution.
- Experience leading teams and cultivating strategic talent.
- Proven experience in pitching and winning new business preferred.
The pay range for this role is:
$140,000 - 170,000 USD per year (Hybrid)
