About the role
We are looking for a high-energy sales professional who can create positive first impressions for potential residents by matching their needs with the ideal apartment home. You will cultivate the resident experience by building lasting relationships, anticipating needs, and exceeding expectations to deliver exceptional experiences.
Pay is based on experience — starting pay is $18/hr.
How you will be successful
- Own the leasing process from introduction to move-in. This includes greeting guests, identifying their housing needs, touring the property, showing apartments, explaining lease criteria and determining eligibility based on established standards. In addition, following up with prospects, closing the sale, completing lease documents, and inspecting units to ensure a great move-in experience.
- Own the renewal process from move-in through renewal. This includes providing ongoing communication, excellent resident relations, and timely processing of renewals.
- Utilize creative marketing and social media strategies to increase qualified property traffic and improve closing ratios.
- Inspect units for market readiness prior to showings and move-ins; resolve issues with the appropriate parties.
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail when preparing lease documents, resident files, applications for approval, security deposits, rent payments, and other bookkeeping tasks.
- Maintain positive communication with residents and provide excellent service through courteous and timely responses to resident needs and concerns.
- Assist with planning, preparation, and execution of resident functions.
- Maintain accurate and in-depth knowledge of the property, other Mills properties, and local competitors.
- Assist with service requests, package collection, and property cleanliness.
- Maintain a professional and organized work environment.

What you need
- High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred
- Minimum two years’ experience in sales and/or customer service preferred
- NALP certification preferred but not required
- Strong negotiating, interpersonal, written, and compelling verbal communication skills
- Valid driver’s license preferred
- Adept at building relationships and working in a team environment, with a proven track record of sharing ideas, providing encouragement, building on others’ ideas, giving due appreciation, and bringing out the best in others
