About the role

Let’s cut to the chase – we’re looking for an experienced and creative Events Manager to lead the strategy, planning, and execution of events that connect educators with the power of Minga. From user conferences and trade shows to webinars and workshops, you’ll create memorable experiences that drive engagement, build relationships, and amplify our brand.

This role requires a balance of strategic thinking, meticulous planning, and hands-on execution. If you’re passionate about creating impactful events and have a knack for bringing people together, we’d love to meet you.


Salary range for this position is $90,000 - $100,000 CDN


What you'll do


As a vital member of the marketing team, you'll play a key role as Events Manager, showcasing your exceptional skills in:

Event Strategy & Planning:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive events strategy aligned with Minga’s goals.
  • Research, evaluate, and select opportunities for conferences, trade shows, and regional events to increase brand awareness and lead generation.

Event Execution

  • Plan and manage all event logistics, including budgets, timelines, venues, vendors, travel arrangements, and onsite setup.
  • Ensure every event delivers a seamless and engaging experience for attendees, whether in-person or virtual.

Marketing and Promotion

  • Partner with the marketing team to develop promotional campaigns, including email, social media, and event landing pages.
  • Create compelling pre- and post-event content to drive attendance and nurture leads.

Relationship Building

  • Foster relationships with key partners, sponsors, and stakeholders to maximize event impact.
  • Act as a brand ambassador for Minga, engaging with educators and administrators to understand their needs.

Data & Reporting

  • Track event performance, including attendance, engagement, and ROI.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to optimize future events.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

  • Stay updated on event trends and technologies to ensure Minga’s events remain fresh and impactful.
  • Bring creative ideas to the table to elevate Minga’s presence in the education space.

Your Qualifications


This role requires:

  • 3+ years of experience in event management or a related field.
  • Bonus points if you have experience as a school administrator or as an educator.
  • Proven track record of planning and executing impactful events.
  • Exceptional networking and relationship-building skills.
  • Bonus points for experience in education, ed-tech, or local government.
  • A knack for balancing strategic thinking with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to enjoy life, have fun, and not take things too seriously.
