About The Role

The Product Owner will primarily be focused on further enhancing our end user experience and pushing these products forward through a positive user experience. This role will serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and product delivery teams.


What You'll Do

  • Elicit, analyze, and document stakeholders’ business needs and requirements using interviews,
  • document analysis, requirements workshops, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios,
  • business analysis, task, and workflow analysis.
  • Translate stakeholder requirements into product deliverables organized as epics, features, and user
  • stories.
  • Act as a liaison for business stakeholders and end-users, determining whether all work meets their
  • shared expectations.
  • Creating clear, feasible, and testable user stories including acceptance criteria.
  • Creating and validating user personas and user journeys.
  • Provide input to backlog management, iteration planning, and elaboration of the user stories.
  • Assist QA in developing test scenarios and test plans to be used in testing the business applications
  • to verify that client requirements are incorporated into the system design.
  • Engage with scrum teams to clarify requirements.
  • Support backlog prioritization and roadmap prioritization.
  • Provide analysis to support resources and financial planning.
  • Facilitate management of technical and product risks through agreeing and tracking mitigating
  • actions.
  • Participate in market analysis process for new products/services development to determine
  • customer needs, industry direction, competitive product, market position and overall product
  • strategy. Ensure deliverables are completed as per plan and defined scope. Resolve impediments to keep
  • project on track.
  • Analyze interconnectedness of products/partners/technologies to create best of breed
  • products/services.
  • Provide feedback to technical design, QA support documents.
  • Assist with UI/UX/CX design exercises as applicable.
  • Work with team members to groom and maintain product backlogs

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Management Information Systems, or any IT related
  • degree preferred. (Related experience can be used in lieu of a bachelor’s degree).
  • 5-10 years of business analyst, systems analyst, project management or equivalent work experience
  • with a good understanding of the Agile methodology.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement complex, large scale solutions. Preferably Policy, Claims or ERP
  • systems.
  • Experienced in working with Azure DevOps or like system to manage backlogs and user stories.
  • Experience with implementing in-house custom solutions as well as COTS systems.
  • Strong financial acumen.
  • Scrum, project management, product owner, business analysis or lean sigma certifications.
  • Ability to travel up to 15% of the year.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the commercial insurance industry and regulatory environment.
  • Proficiency in UI/UX design and delivery.
  • Understands the fundamentals of commercial insurance and claims processes/services.
  • Working knowledge of insurance technology (i.e., policy and program admin systems).
  • Understanding of Agile project management and development process.

This is a remote position. Planned, in-office activities may be required on occasion (typically 2-4x per year).
