Senior Product Manager

About Mission Zero Technologies

We’re a London-based climate tech startup working to reinvent carbon for a thriving planet. Since 2020, we have rapidly pioneered the world’s most versatile direct air capture (DAC) technology to recover historic CO₂ emissions from the atmosphere, anywhere at any scale. Backed by Breakthrough Energy Ventures, the XPRIZE foundation, Stripe, and the UK Government, we’ve moved a brand new climate technology from lab to commercial plants in under three years to rapidly empower carbon removal and sustainable utilisation.

About the role

You have the opportunity to join MZT at a crucial juncture in our company’s evolution—transitioning from an innovative R&D startup into a global player ready to implement and scale our DAC technology. As Product Manager, you will be instrumental in guiding the development, deployment, and market integration of our DAC solutions. We’re seeking someone with a strategic mindset and a hands-on approach to oversee product lifecycle management and ensure our technology meets the highest standards of performance and impact — spanning commercial / Marketing / Branding interface (30%), Customer interfacing (20%), Technology, Engineering & R&D interface (50%) all whilst communicating cross functionally across the business.

Reporting to the Head of Product and Projects, this is a senior and influential role where you will work closely with the commercial and technical teams to drive product innovation and deployment across product life cycles (From lab scale to 100kT plants) and ensure all R&D and E2O activities deliver tangible value to customers. In addition, you will work closely with your Commercial and Marketing and Branding colleagues to evolve product messaging and competitive positioning, develop customer feedback loops, and develop a product roadmap that aligns with the  company’s vision and strategic goals.

This role requires a deep understanding of the sustainability space, hardware technology development, and managing ambiguous markets to successfully create product roadmaps with the direction of the Head of Product.

This role will be based primarily in our London headquarters, with opportunities to engage with emerging sites across the UK and internationally as we expand.

What you'll be doing

  • Ownership of Product Life Cycle Management: Owner of developing a commercially relevant and distinctive DAC product - taking requirements from Sales, Marketing, customers, external partners/supplier and regulatory bodies to drive  what and how we build products relative to: R&D, Engineering, supply chain/fabrication, post-deployment in Operations and our service promise. This includes defining the product roadmap (timelines, cost targets) and application of appropriate product frameworks and techniques.

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and successful execution of product plans to translate technical advancements into practical, market-ready solutions.

  • Product team will be the go-to connection between Commercial and Product teams — proactively sharing insights and feedback on customer-specific context, goals, challenges, pain points, blind spots, and needs to inform strategic decisions and product enhancements. Drive continuous improvement initiatives based on this data, working closely with our Commercial teams and Product Analyst to gather insights in a marketplace that is very ambiguous and still forming.

  • Acting as the gatekeeper and guardian of product-related data within the company, owning, creating and updating externally-facing product information (external and internal data or documentation clarity) ensuring it is fit for purpose alongside our marketing manager. Contextualise the difference between estimated data versus real world data.

  • Product ‘evangelist’: build awareness of the key product differentiators internally throughout the company, including working with Project Managers to translate product needs into customer projects.

  • Develop and implement strategies for scaling production and deployment, including managing supply chain and vendor relationships with your procurement colleagues.

  • Using techno-economic models (TEMs) and Life Cycle Analyses as data sets to drive success for future product roadmaps, keeping key KPIs of CO2 captured, electricity usage and water usage in mind.

  • Work closely with a Product Analyst and matrix manage other members of wider teams.
