Role and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for On-Time delivery and pickups.
  • Maintaining accurate Hours of Service 
  • Must check call daily when arriving & departing shipping/receiving locations.
  • Must scale all loads properly.
  • Be able to read & understand an Atlas.
  • Know how to fuel tractor & use a fuel card.
  • Know how to issue a Com Check for lumpers & repairs.
  • Ensure that you have current & accurate permits and registrations for specific states.
  • Submit all paperwork by end of work week.
  • Secure cargo & equipment when applicable, i.e., sealing trailers, bracing, blocking, ratchet, & straps & sending pictures to dispatch.
  • Inspect and identify safety defects and properly record all information on DVIR.
  • Must perform Pre & Post trip inspections. 
  • Notify dispatch and/or Safety regarding accidents, incidents, delays, inclement weather, and breakdowns.
  • Have a clear understanding of OS&D procedures and document such. 
  • Must understand how to read a Bill of Lading
  • Assist with freight unloading and/and or loading, i.e., using a pallet jack without assistance if required and documenting on your Bill of Lading
  • Maintaining a 3-point contact when entering and exiting the vehicle 
  • Drop/Hook trailers from tractor.
  • Slide Trailer Tandems
  • Pulling 5th wheel Pin & hood on tractor
  • Dolly up and Down trailer
  • Open & closing of trailer doors.
  • Meets the minimum qualifications set forth in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
  • Must be able to drive anytime within a 24-hour period as FMCSA allows.
  • Other duties as assigned by management – Please note that this list is not exclusive in nature but are examples of some of the specific requirements for a driver.
 
 Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED, verbal communication skills, CDL-Class A Driver License
  • Prefer two years previous tractor/trailer driving experience (unless applying as a student driver)
  • Knowledge of all applicable DOT Regulations and Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
  • Meet all standards (medical, safety, etc.) required by the DOT and pass required drug/alcohol test.
  • Acceptable background investigation results
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS UPON AGREEMENT
  • Hazardous Material Certified, U.S. Passport
