About the Role

We are looking for a Team Lead, Software Development to lead a small, high-performing Scrum team responsible for building, modernizing, and supporting enterprise SaaS applications utilizing agentic development processes

In this role, you will lead the team’s people, technology, and delivery while remaining hands-on in software development. You will guide technical decisions, mentor engineers, facilitate Scrum, and partner with Product, QA, Architecture, DevOps, and Security to deliver high-quality software.

You will also help lead our agentic-first approach to software development—using AI and coding agents to increase engineering leverage while maintaining strong standards for architecture, security, quality, and reliability.

What You'll Do

Team & Delivery Leadership

  • Lead and develop a Scrum team of approximately 4–7 engineers.
  • Conduct regular 1:1s, provide coaching and feedback, and support career development.
  • Facilitate Scrum ceremonies and promote effective Agile practices.
  • Partner with Product and QA to refine work, define acceptance criteria, and align delivery with priorities.
  • Manage team capacity, commitments, risks, dependencies, and release milestones.
  • Build a culture of ownership, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Technical Leadership

  • Champion the development and adoption of agentic development best practices.
  • Provide technical direction, lead design and architectural decisions within the team.
  • Remain hands-on with design, coding, code reviews, testing, debugging, refactoring, and documentation.
  • Guide modernization efforts and promote sound engineering practices.
  • Champion CI/CD, automated testing, observability, code quality, and technical debt reduction.
  • Partner with Architecture, DevOps, Systems, and Security to build secure, scalable, reliable solutions.

Agentic-First Engineering

  • Lead adoption of agentic development practices within the team.
  • Use AI coding agents across planning, development, testing, debugging, refactoring, code review, and documentation.
  • Help engineers provide agents with clear context, constraints, architecture, and acceptance criteria.
  • Establish practical standards for reviewing, testing, securing, and validating AI-generated code.
  • Identify opportunities to improve engineering productivity and delivery through agentic development.

Collaboration

  • Work effectively across Product, Engineering, QA, Architecture, DevOps, and Security.
  • Communicate technical decisions, delivery status, risks, and tradeoffs clearly to stakeholders.
  • Contribute to broader Engineering practices and standards.

What We're Looking For

  • 8–10 years of professional software development experience, with demonstrated technical leadership, mentoring, or team leadership experience.
  • Strong hands-on software development background.
  • Experience with enterprise applications, SaaS, microservices, or distributed systems.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, APIs, databases, SDLC, CI/CD, testing, and production support.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and facilitating Scrum ceremonies.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • A strong sense of ownership and a drive to continuously learn and improve.
  • Experience using AI coding agents or other agentic development tools, with an understanding of how to apply them responsibly and effectively.

Technical Environment

Experience with technologies such as Java/Spring Boot, React/TypeScript, relational databases, REST APIs, event-driven systems, AWS, CI/CD, and automated testing is beneficial.

We value strong engineering fundamentals and adaptability over experience with a specific technology stack.

Why This Role

This is an opportunity to shape more than what the team builds—you will help shape how the team builds software.

As a Team Lead, you will develop engineers, guide technical decisions, drive delivery, and help establish an agentic-first engineering model that increases the team's effectiveness and impact.
