Vice President, Business Development

Salary Range for Role: $120,000 - $200,000 Annual Base + Commission


Position Overview 

We are seeking a Vice President of Business Development to play a critical role helping us scale our business by owning SMB and Enterprise revenue growth. This individual will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of sales and marketing at the company, including hiring, training, incentive design, sales operations, and go-to-market strategy.  

The Vice President of Business Development should represent the qualities we seek across the team and company: proactive, growth-oriented, organized, and accountable. In addition, he or she must be a compelling communicator able to influence internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Own end-to-end enterprise sales strategy, from market positioning through contract execution and ongoing account expansion 
  • Lead evaluation of new business lines and new markets and pitch Executive team and Board of Directors on new growth vectors  
  • Lead large, complex, multi-stakeholder deal cycles with sophisticated counterparties (e.g., aggregators, banks, institutional partners, enterprise clients) 
  • Consistently grow annual sales volumes through relationship-led selling, trust-building, and repeatable processes 
  • Develop and continuously refine value propositions and pricing frameworks aligned with customer needs and risk economics 
  • Grow, develop, and lead a diverse, high-performing sales organization rooted in accountability, rigor and continuous iteration  
  • Act as a senior commercial voice in executive and board-level discussions 

 

Ideal Candidate Profile  

  • 12+ years in business development or commercial leadership within a consumer finance, fintech, servicing, or collections organization  
  • Demonstrated track record of scaling revenue across multiple business stages  
  • Experience leading large negotiations, structured deals, or capital-intensive transactions 
  • Steeped in a sales methodology such as Sandler, Challenger, etc. and likely a student of Frank Slootman, John McMahon, The Challenger Sale, or similar people or frameworks  

 

Performance Metrics 

  • Improved forecast accuracy, outbound momentum, and pipeline quality 
  • Ramped, high potential account executives added to the team 
  • Revenue by business line, revenue in target industries, revenue from new clients  
  • Rituals in place to drive performance, accountability, and continuous improvement
