Responsibilities:

• Own end-to-end design and delivery of major features and systems across Motion’s stack
• Architect and maintain scalable full-stack applications using TypeScript, Next.js, Express.js, and React Native
• Develop and maintain APIs and backend services with tRPC
• Collaborate cross-functionally with designers and product to shape the roadmap and technical strategy
• Establish and enforce engineering best practices, testing standards, and code quality
• Monitor performance, debug production issues, and drive long-term stability and scalability
• Mentor and review the work of other developers to elevate the engineering team

Requirements:

• 5+ years of hands-on full-stack development experience
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript, tRPC, and PostgreSQL
• Deep experience with Next.js (SSR & static generation) and React Native
• Solid backend development expertise with Express.js
• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred: S3, Lambda, RDS, etc.)
• Comfortable designing relational database schemas and optimizing queries
• Track record of owning projects from architecture → implementation → deployment
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills

Nice to Have:

• Experience with serverless architectures
• Familiarity with Better-Auth
• Experience integrating Stripe or other payment APIs
• Prior experience mentoring teams or scaling systems in a startup environment
