About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Business Development & Account Lead to take ownership of stakeholder relationships, drive business growth, and ensure successful project delivery. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on building relationships, closing deals, and identifying growth opportunities while ensuring project execution aligns with client expectations. 

An ideal candidate has previous experience in the utilities industry. 


Key Responsibilities

Standard Management Activities 

  • Renew all contracts that are up for renewal. 
  • Develop and deliver proposals for new work to clients for consideration. 
  • Manage and understand the state of project health with all delivery leads. 
  • Identify and build relationships with key stakeholders. 
  • Assess resource needs and align personnel with project demands based on skills and requirements. 

Project Rescue Activities 

  • Address project challenges when they are not meeting projections or when client satisfaction is at risk. 
  • Develop and execute strategic solutions to maintain strong client relationships and project success. 

Account Development Activities 

  • Map and maintain a stakeholder network within client organizations. 
  • Analyze monthly reports and collaborate with delivery leads to identify business expansion opportunities. 
  • Engage with 3-5 new stakeholders within client accounts each month. 
  • Conduct research on clients and their public positioning to uncover new business opportunities. 

Position Goals 

  • Drive account growth and development by expanding stakeholder relationships within client organizations. 
  • Act as a trusted advisor, co-creating solutions with clients to win new business and expand accounts. 
  • Maintain flawless execution of project delivery while focusing on long-term business development. 

Team Leadership 

  • Coach and develop delivery leads, ensuring client success while supporting employee growth. 
  • Engage in succession planning and collaborate with internal resource management to develop employee pipelines. 
  • Act as a mentor and coach to team members, fostering a culture of learning and professional development. 

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong leadership and team management experience. 
  • Proven ability to build and nurture client relationships. 
  • Sales and business development expertise, with a track record of closing deals. 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with a strategic and adaptable mindset. 
  • Execution- and results-oriented with a commitment to client satisfaction. 
  • Visibility and accessibility to clients, ensuring strong communication and trust.

The starting wage for this position is $85,000 depending on experience and qualifications. This position is also eligible for an incentive plan based on individual performance and sales.
