About the role
The Plant Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining and ensuring proper operation of machinery while sustaining a high level of production quality. This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but will assist in training part-time machine operators to ensure they understand and maintain proper operating procedures.
What you'll do
- Troubleshoot, identify, and perform preventative maintenance repairs and refurbishing of machinery during production and non-production periods.
- Understand basic electrical principles.
- Train and assist part-time machine personnel and Crew Leaders to ensure proper processes are followed; quality of product meets specifications and assist with setup and adjustments of machinery.
- Troubleshoot efficiently and exhibit an extreme sense of urgency.
- Possess good problem-solving capabilities while performing complicated procedures on large machinery to minimize down time.
- Complete all work orders in an accurate and timely manner coming from (PMS) Preventative Maintenance System software.
- Evaluate Crew Leaders and part-time personnel.
- Give constructive feedback to part-time employees when procedures are not followed properly or when production errors occur.
- Follow lockout/tag-out procedures and ensure that all employees adhere to Mspark safety policies.
- Confer with Lead Technician to determine progress of work and to provide concerns for problems that could cause production delays.
- Seek appropriate assistance with all training concerns.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Strong experience troubleshooting machinery in a manufacturing or production environment.
