About the role

• The Site Superintendent will lead day-to-day field operations for a medical clinic construction project in Kwajalein Atoll, Republic of the Marshall Islands. This role is responsible for ensuring construction activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Department of Defense (DoD), EM 385-1-1, contract requirements, project specifications, and approved schedules.
• The Superintendent will serve as the primary on-site construction representative and will work closely with project leadership, quality control, safety personnel, subcontractors, designers, commissioning agents, and government representatives.
• This is a full-time, onsite position in a remote overseas environment and requires relocation to Kwajalein Atoll.

What you'll do

• Direct and coordinate daily construction operations, subcontractors, trades, and site personnel.
• Ensure work is performed in accordance with project drawings, specifications, contract requirements, and the three-phase quality control process.
• Maintain compliance with applicable USACE/DoD requirements, including EM 385-1-1, CQM, UFGS, and relevant UFC standards.
• Oversee healthcare-specific construction activities, including medical gas systems, specialized HVAC, infection-control requirements, laboratories, clinical finishes, equipment rough-ins, and commissioning activities.
• Enforce site safety requirements, including Activity Hazard Analyses, daily inspections, toolbox talks, and corrective actions.
• Coordinate closely with the Site Safety and Health Officer and Quality Control Manager.
• Track daily progress and support maintenance of the USACE-compliant project schedule.
• Coordinate sequencing of multi-discipline construction activities and medical equipment installation.
• Maintain accurate daily reports, manpower and equipment logs, safety documentation, RFIs, as-builts, field directives, testing records, and commissioning documentation.
• Use RMS/QCS reporting systems when required by the contract.
• Participate in progress meetings, site walks, inspections, and coordination meetings with USACE/DoD representatives and other project stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience supervising construction of medical facilities, including hospitals, clinics, medical centers, laboratories, or similar healthcare environments.
• Strong knowledge of USACE/DoD construction processes and quality control requirements.
• Working knowledge of EM 385-1-1, USACE/NAVFAC Construction Quality Management, UFGS, UFC standards, and medical facility construction requirements.
• Demonstrated experience managing field operations in remote or logistically challenging environments.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, submittals, and other technical documents.
• Strong leadership, communication, reporting, problem-solving, and field coordination skills.
• Preferred qualifications include prior USACE or DoD project experience, RMS/QCS experience, healthcare commissioning or specialized MEP installation experience, and certifications such as CQM-C, OSHA 30 or EM 385 40-Hour, and First Aid/CPR.
