About Mytra:
We’re creating an entirely new way to solve the most ubiquitous problem in industry - moving and storing material. We’re applying robotics and distributed software to create a new class of product for this $1T market. We’re focused on the supply chain industry first. The industry is in a massive bind with the continued growth of e-commerce, sharp rise in costs, and supply chain disruptions. What has been a “sleepy” industry for decades is now at the epicenter of sustaining the global economy.
About the Role:
Mytra's Systems Integration and Test team is looking for a mechanically oriented Systems Test Engineer to design and execute structural and dynamic tests for warehouse robotics and pallet racking systems. In this role, you will play a key part in systems validation and verification. You'll develop comprehensive test methodologies for high-load mechanical assemblies and structural racking, and you'll build robust processes to validate performance and confirm safety margins. Working closely with mechanical design, firmware, and systems engineering teams, you'll help ensure that Mytra's products can withstand the demands of real-world warehouse environments.
This role requires on-site presence at our Brisbane, CA headquarters.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the safe and reliable operation of test equipment and fixtures, maintaining high standards of safety and performance in a fast-paced environment
- Combine hands-on hardware development with test planning, data analysis, and close collaboration with systems engineering, mechanical, and firmware teams
- Develop and document standardized test methods to ensure repeatable and scalable processes; write test procedures, standards, and operation manuals
- Design and build custom test fixtures and instrumentation layouts that integrate electromechanical actuators, strain measurement, and data acquisition systems to conduct Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT)
- Analyze engineering drawings and specifications to determine testing requirements
- Participate in failure and root cause analysis efforts for issues encountered in lab testing and field returns, and collaborate with design engineers on targeted improvements
- Plan and execute tasks using project management tools
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Software Engineering or a related field, or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of hands-on experience designing and executing test plans for complex electromechanical systems
- Proficiency in Python or MATLAB for analyzing datasets in specification definition, risk assessment, and reliability analysis, as well as writing scripts to execute commands on electromechanical systems
- Proficiency with test instrumentation including strain gauges, load cells, and displacement sensors, with experience in signal conditioning and data acquisition systems
- Experience with test fixture design and fabrication, including hands-on capability in mechanical prototyping, machining coordination, and assembly of custom test hardware
- Ability to effectively communicate complex mechanical test results and failure analysis findings to diverse engineering teams and stakeholders
- Enthusiasm for pushing the boundaries of warehouse robotics, working on cutting-edge mechanical systems that operate at unprecedented scales and speeds
- Comfort with uncertainty and a willingness to recognize mistakes and pivot
- A commitment to openness, inquisitiveness, and continuous improvement
A Final Note:
You’re encouraged to apply even if you can’t take on every example project in its totality. We work closely and collaboratively at Mytra - No one takes on projects alone. We seek people who are eager to work together, learn new things, and bring unique perspectives.
Benefits Include:
- Competitive compensation and equity grants at a high-growth company backed by top-tier VCs
- Fully subsidized health coverage, including medical (baseline plans), dental, and vision for employees and dependents
- 401(k) plans and employer-subsidized life insurance
- Fully subsidized lunch and snacks at HQ—we eat and share stories together at the “long” table
- Generous PTO and company-paid holidays, including one week over the winter break so everyone can recharge together
- Voluntary pet insurance, Voluntary Life Insurance, Accident, Critical Illness, and Hospital Indemnity
- Fully subsidized tax advisory services and education to help you understand your equity
- Commuter benefits, including a up to $150 monthly commuter benefit
- Lively, modern combined office and lab space where we rapidly iterate through design, build, and test phases
- Fully equipped onsite gym and showers at headquarters
