About Mytra:
We’re creating an entirely new way to solve the most ubiquitous problem in industry - moving and storing material. We’re applying robotics and distributed software to create a new class of product for this $1T market. We’re focused on the supply chain industry first. The industry is in a massive bind with the continued growth of e-commerce, sharp rise in costs, and supply chain disruptions. What has been a “sleepy” industry for decades is now at the epicenter of sustaining the global economy.

Mytra’s Engineering team is looking for a passionate and strategic systems leader to grow our Systems teams—ensuring we deliver systems that have been architected for exceptional performance and reliability at scale.
As the Director of Systems Engineering, you’ll lead the Systems Engineering, System Integration, and System Test functions through the entire product development cycle, developing systems (robotics, among others) that are performant and deployable at scale. You’ll lead the team to ensure systems meet requirements, conflicts are discovered early, and risks are identified before they become problems. You'll establish processes that make development more efficient and you’ll connect Product, Engineering, and Operations teams. Great candidates are pragmatic and flexible, can draw from deep experience in autonomous mobile robotics, and have successfully led development of impactful engineering systems at scale. This role requires on-site presence at our Brisbane, CA headquarters, for close collaboration with the other teams.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of engineers and managers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure the successful delivery of our systems for deployment at scale
- Supervise the team’s successful deliverables through the product development process, which includes:
- Executing product system and sub-systems architectures along with system-level simulations
- Defining engineering requirements and specifications
- Ensuring traceability of cross-functional hardware, software, and product capabilities
- Identifying risks & mitigations
- Defining test & validation plans
- Executing system integration and bring up
- Testing the systems to validate functional performance, quality assurance, and reliability
- Ensuring compliance of safety-critical systems
- Support the Systems team and the larger organization by identifying gaps and developing frameworks, processes, and tools to make the work more efficient (e.g. optimizing performance, reliability, and cost, tracking risk, and establishing internal release standards)
- Collaborate with core engineering disciplines, including firmware, software, mechanical, electrical, structural, robotics, and AI, to ensure that products are built to spec and built right, minimizing revision needs
