Senior Global Supply Manager - Structural Components

About Mytra:

We’re creating an entirely new way to solve the most ubiquitous problem in industry - moving and storing material. We’re applying robotics and distributed software to create a new class of product for this $1T market. We’re focused on the supply chain industry first. The industry is in a massive bind with the continued growth of e-commerce, sharp rise in costs, and supply chain disruptions. What has been a “sleepy” industry for decades is now at the epicenter of sustaining the global economy.

About the role:

Mytra’s Supply Chain team is looking for a hands-on, strategic operator to own and scale our global steel and structural components supply base as we build and deploy warehouse infrastructure at scale.

As a Structural Supply Manager, you’ll be responsible for end-to-end ownership of steel and structural procurement — from commodity strategy and supplier relationships to manufacturability, cost, quality, and long-term capacity planning. You’ll operate at the intersection of engineering, construction, and operations, making decisions that directly impact Mytra’s ability to build warehouses and automation systems quickly, reliably, and cost-effectively.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in ambiguity, takes initiative without waiting for perfect information, and can comfortably balance urgent execution with longer-term strategic planning — all while owning relationships with a small number of highly strategic, high-spend suppliers.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish relationships and take ownership of Mytra’s steel and structural suppliers, including mills, service centers, and fabricators. Assess current pricing, lead times, capabilities, and risks, and drive near-term cost, quality, or delivery improvements where needed.
  • Build and execute a global steel commodity strategy — including sourcing approach, supplier segmentation, negotiation frameworks, and capacity planning — aligned with Mytra’s construction and deployment roadmap.
  • Partner closely with engineering, operations, and construction teams to ensure parts are designed for manufacturability across roll forming, press brake, laser cutting, and stamping processes. Influence design decisions based on cost, lead time, and supplier capability.
  • Develop deep, long-term partnerships with strategic, high-spend suppliers. Own executive-level relationships, joint roadmapping, capacity investments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Work with finance, operations, and project teams to forecast steel demand, manage price volatility, and align procurement decisions with project schedules and capital plans.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in strategic sourcing or supply chain management within construction, warehouse, or industrial sectors.
  • You’re very comfortable with procurement of steel as a commodity, and have hands-on experience managing pricing, supply risk, and negotiations in volatile markets.
  • You have experience working within a building, warehouse, or industrial construction environment, and understand how structural steel decisions affect schedules, costs, and on-site execution.
  • You’re familiar with roll forming, press brake, laser cutting, and stamping manufacturing processes, and can reason about design tradeoffs, tolerances, and supplier capabilities.
  • You’re comfortable owning total supplier relationships — including commercial terms, performance management, and long-term strategic alignment — especially with high-spend, mission-critical partners.
  • You take initiative naturally, operate well with ambiguity and shifting priorities, and don’t need a fully formed process to start making progress.
  • You enjoy balancing urgent, tactical work with longer-term strategic thinking, and can context-switch without losing sight of the bigger picture.

A Final Note:

You’re encouraged to apply even if you can’t take on every example project in its totality. We work closely and collaboratively at Mytra - No one takes on projects alone. We seek people who are eager to work together, learn new things, and bring unique perspectives.
