About Mytra
We’re creating an entirely new way to solve the most ubiquitous problem in industry - moving and storing material. We’re applying robotics and distributed software to create a new class of product for this $1T market. We’re focused on the supply chain industry first. The industry is in a massive bind with the continued growth of e-commerce, sharp rise in costs, and supply chain disruptions. What has been a “sleepy” industry for decades is now at the epicenter of sustaining the global economy.
Role Overview
Mytra is looking for its first Senior Quality Engineer to develop and implement Quality into our hardware and supply chain process & strategy from the ground up. You’ll work closely with engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing to inspect parts, qualify vendors, and help establish robust quality systems in our fast-moving environment. If you’re detail-oriented, action-driven, and excited to help shape the foundation of a quality culture, this is your role!
What You'll Do
- Establish incoming part inspection protocols for key mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical components; perform hands-on inspections using calipers, micrometers, multimeters, and CMM tools.
- Build supplier quality processes from scratch: support vendor qualification, track performance, and lead supplier corrective actions (SCARs).
- Collaborate with engineering on early-stage design reviews with a focus on DFM/DFA and quality risk mitigation, and ensure our drawings are developed to be able to create quality control and inspection practices.
- Maintain part approval documentation including FAIs (First Article Inspections), PPAPs, and control plans.
- Lead or support root cause analysis and corrective actions (RCCA) for internal defects, incoming quality issues, and field issues.
- Define quality requirements for critical components, subassemblies, and final robotic systems.
- Support build and assembly teams with quality checks during prototype and production runs.
- Help develop and maintain quality documentation such as inspection work instructions, checklists, and non-conformance reports (NCRs).
- Contribute to internal quality metrics and help drive continuous improvement across teams.
Must-Have:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
- +5 years of experience in quality engineering, preferably in a startup, robotics, high-volume manufacturing, hardware, or electromechanical environment.
- Strong hands-on inspection experience; comfortable working in a lab, shop floor, or supplier site.
- Familiarity with quality tools like FMEA, 5-Whys, Fishbone/Ishikawa, and 8D problem solving.
- Experience working with contract manufacturers and suppliers—especially qualifying, auditing, and managing them.
- Comfort in a dynamic, fast-changing startup environment where systems are still being built.
Nice-to-Have:
- Experience in early-stage NPI product development cycles and prototype manufacturing.
- Working knowledge of ERP/MRP/PLM systems.
- Certifications like CQE, Six Sigma, or experience with ISO 9001 are a plus but not required.
- Familiarity with GD&T, IPC standards, or robotics system integration is a bonus.
The pay range for this role is:
140,000 - 160,000 USD per year (Mytra, Inc.)
