About Mytra
We’re creating an entirely new way to solve the most ubiquitous problem in industry - moving and storing material. We’re applying robotics and distributed software to create a new class of product for this $1T market. We’re focused on the supply chain industry first. The industry is in a massive bind with the continued growth of e-commerce, sharp rise in costs, and supply chain disruptions. What has been a “sleepy” industry for decades is now at the epicenter of sustaining the global economy.
Role Overview
This role is for a strategic and hands-on Global Supply Manager who thrives in fast-moving environments and loves the challenge of establishing supply chains and relationships from the ground up. You’ll own sourcing and supply chain strategy for a host of key mechanical commodities - from machined and stamped metals to injection-molded plastics and motors.
You’ll work cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, finance, and quality teams to drive value, resilience, and innovation across an evolving global supply base.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct market analysis and competitive benchmarking across multiple commodity groups (aluminum, steel, plastics, etc.) to inform sourcing strategy.
- Identify, evaluate, and engage new strategic supply partners across regions — building a supplier ecosystem capable of supporting Mytra’s growth.
- Develop supplier relationships from scratch, ensuring the right senior-level engagement within partner organizations to enable collaboration and long-term alignment.
- Negotiate commercial terms and supply agreements that deliver best value for Mytra — not just in price, but in innovation, risk resilience, and total cost of ownership.
- Work closely with engineering to ensure supplier capabilities align with Mytra’s design, innovation and manufacturability needs.
- Assess and mitigate supply chain risks, including geopolitical exposure, single-sourcing, and capacity constraints.
- Manage through ambiguity and change — maintaining strong, collaborative relationships even as designs evolve and priorities shift.
- Drive supplier performance reviews and continuous improvement across quality, delivery, and cost metrics.
- Present sourcing strategies, risk assessments, and supplier recommendations confidently to Mytra’s senior leadership.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, finance, manufacturing, and quality to ensure alignment on sourcing strategy and execution.
Qualifications:
- 5–10+ years of experience in strategic sourcing or supply chain management within hardware, robotics, automotive, industrial, or manufacturing sectors.
- Practical experience with mechanical components — including aluminum, steel, and plastic parts, and familiarity with injection molding, casting, extrusions, stampings, and machining processes.
- Proven ability to build supplier relationships from zero and manage supplier teams effectively at all levels.
- Commercial acumen — you understand the time value of money and cost modeling, and can analyze and compare supplier proposals with precision.
- Demonstrated skill in navigating complexity and ambiguity with clarity and professionalism.
- Strong presentation and communication skills, capable of influencing internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- A collaborative mindset — able to partner seamlessly with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and finance teams.
- A passion for working in a dynamic, mission-driven environment where ownership, curiosity, and initiative are valued.
A Final Note:
You’re encouraged to apply even if you can’t take on every example project in its totality. We
work closely and collaboratively at Mytra - No one takes on projects alone. We seek people who
are eager to work together, learn new things, and bring unique perspectives.
