About Mytra:
We’re creating an entirely new way to solve the most ubiquitous problem in industry - moving and storing material. We’re applying robotics and distributed software to create a new class of product for this $1T market. We’re focused on the supply chain industry first. The industry is in a massive bind with the continued growth of e-commerce, sharp rise in costs, and supply chain disruptions. What has been a “sleepy” industry for decades is now at the epicenter of sustaining the global economy.
About the Role:
Mytra is seeking a Security Program Lead to build and lead our comprehensive security program from the ground up. As we scale our robotic systems across customer warehouses, protecting our technology, data, and infrastructure is mission-critical. You'll develop and implement security strategies that span cybersecurity, network security, physical security, and operational security across our distributed robotic fleet and supporting systems. This is an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned security professional with experience in mature security environments to step into a leadership role and shape our security posture as we grow. You'll work closely with Engineering, Operations, and Product teams to embed security best practices into everything we build and deploy. This role requires on-site presence at our Brisbane, CA headquarters.
Example Projects:
- Robotic Fleet Security Architecture: Design end-to-end security for distributed robotic systems, including secure communication between robots and control systems, authentication mechanisms, and protection against unauthorized access or tampering in customer warehouse environments
- Incident Response & Security Operations: Build an incident response program from scratch, including detection and monitoring systems, escalation procedures, and forensics capabilities to quickly identify and respond to security events across our software stack and deployed hardware
- Security Compliance Framework: Establish security controls and documentation to meet customer requirements and industry standards (SOC 2, ISO 27001), including security assessments, policy development, and audit preparation for enterprise customers
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement a holistic security program covering cybersecurity, network security, data protection, and physical security for both corporate and customer deployment environments
- Develop security architecture and protocols for our robotic systems, including fleet management software, embedded systems, and cloud infrastructure
- Establish security policies, procedures, and standards across software development, manufacturing, deployment, and operations
- Conduct risk assessments and threat modeling for robotic platforms deployed in customer warehouses, identifying vulnerabilities across hardware, software, and network layers
- Create and maintain security documentation, including incident response plans, disaster recovery procedures, and security policies
- Collaborate with software, firmware, and systems engineering teams to integrate security best practices into the product development lifecycle
- Implement security controls for both on-premises and cloud-based systems, including access management, network segmentation, and data encryption
- Establish security monitoring, logging, and alerting capabilities to detect and respond to security incidents
- Manage security for customer deployments, ensuring proper isolation, authentication, and protection of customer data and systems
- Develop and deliver security awareness training for employees and contractors
- Stay current on emerging security threats, vulnerabilities, and best practices relevant to robotics and industrial automation
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in information security or cybersecurity roles within a mature security program at a technology company
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles across network security, application security, infrastructure security, and data protection
- Experience with security frameworks and standards (NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ISO 27001, or IEC 62443)
- Hands-on experience implementing security controls for software development, including secure coding practices, vulnerability management, and code reviews
- Knowledge of network security including firewalls, VPNs, network segmentation, and intrusion detection/prevention systems
- Experience with cloud security (GCP or AWS) and securing distributed systems
- Proven ability to conduct security risk assessments and develop practical mitigation strategies
- Experience with identity and access management, authentication mechanisms, and authorization frameworks
- Strong communication skills with ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Experience with security in robotics, IoT, embedded systems, or industrial control systems is highly valued
- Familiarity with security compliance requirements (SOC 2, GDPR, CCPA) and security tools (SIEM, vulnerability scanners, penetration testing tools) preferred
- Professional security certifications (CISSP , Security+, CEH) and experience building security programs in startup environments are a plus
A Final Note:
You’re encouraged to apply even if you can’t take on every example project in its totality. We work closely and collaboratively at Mytra - No one takes on projects alone. We seek people who are eager to work together, learn new things, and bring unique perspectives.
