Sustainment Engineer

About Mytra:

We’re creating an entirely new way to solve the most ubiquitous problem in industry - moving and storing material. We’re applying robotics and distributed software to create a new class of product for this $1T market. We’re focused on the supply chain industry first. The industry is in a massive bind with the continued growth of e-commerce, sharp rise in costs, and supply chain disruptions. What has been a “sleepy” industry for decades is now at the epicenter of sustaining the global economy.

Role Overview

Mytra is seeking a highly motivated Sustainment Engineer to join our CX Sustainment team. This role is critical to ensuring reliability, support readiness, and lifecycle sustainment for Mytra’s advanced robotics and ASRS (Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems) solutions deployed across customer sites. The Sustainment Engineer will leverage a strong background in engineering, reliability, and field support to close the loop between product performance in the field and continuous improvement initiatives in engineering and operations.

As a Sustainment Engineer you will lead or contribute to

    • Coordinate with customers to ensure system uptime and reliability requirements are achieved.
    • Usage and upkeep of the customer support systems.
  • Field Reliability & Sustainment
    • Monitor, measure, and analyze system reliability performance across deployed platforms.
    • Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) of field issues.
    • Understanding of sustainment readiness metrics (MTBF, MTTR, uptime, service responsiveness) and how they gauge system performance and efficiency
  • Cross-Functional Engineering Collaboration
    • Partner with design, manufacturing, and reliability engineering teams to drive continuous product improvements.
    • Translate field performance data into actionable engineering change orders (ECOs) and design-for-reliability / design-for-supportability recommendations.
    • Support new product introduction (NPI) by defining sustainment requirements, field readiness plans, and lifecycle support strategies.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, or Systems Engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • 2+ years of progressive engineering experience in roles such as Reliability Engineer, Customer Support Engineer, Sustainment Engineer, Hardware Reliability Manager, or related positions

  • Knowledge of PLM & CMMS systems (e.g., SAP, EZO, ION) for tracking parts inventory and maintenance work orders
  • Comfortable using various hand and power tools to repair hardware in the field
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise external contractors and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
  • Excellent communication, cross-functional coordination, and customer-facing skills
  • You are excited about working on an immature product, growing together, and shaping the future of the company
  • Uncertainty isn’t scary, and you’re willing to realize mistakes and pivot
  • You can convey complex ideas and technical concepts to a diverse audience
