NanoVation Therapeutics (NTx) is looking for a collaborative and results-driven Vice President, Business Development to lead our business development and marketing portfolios.
As a key member of the senior leadership team, the Vice President, Business Development will play a crucial role in shaping the company's business growth, leading our team to identify, evaluate, and execute new business opportunities aligned with our corporate objectives.
Our ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a proven track record in negotiating licensing and multi-year collaboration deals in the genetic medicines field. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to build on the momentum of NTx’s recent strategic partnership with Novo Nordisk (read more about this success), contributing to our vision of enabling genetic medicines to prevent, treat or cure diseases.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
BD Strategy
Designs, and implements our strategic BD plan to proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities in collaboration with key stakeholders.
Maintains a deep understanding of the company’s technologies, organizational objectives, and business philosophies to effectively implement our BD plan.
Works closely with our scientific team to align potential partnerships with the company's technological capabilities and goals.
Manages the development, implementation, and monitoring of regular reporting and analytics to identify issues, evaluate performance, and drive strategic and tactical decisions.
Establishes and manages government relations (GR) activities, focused on key funding opportunities.
BD Lead Generation
Identifies, screens, evaluates, and closes strategic business and licensing opportunities with strategic partners that are aligned with our corporate and long-term objectives.
Generates targeted business leads through conferences, meetings, and direct engagement with relevant industry players.
Develops BD plans, pricing strategies, and business forecasts to support our corporate objectives.
Builds a BD team covering North America and Europe.
Contract Negotiation
Prepares and presents partnering proposals and term sheets.
Leads contract and licensing negotiations, ensuring deals are closed effectively and are mutually beneficial and strategically aligned with the company's goals.
Establishes and maintains strong relationships with key collaborators, competitors, and advisory networks.
Marketing Strategy
Develops and leads a cohesive marketing strategy to increase company awareness via conferences, direct engagement, sponsorships, digital marketing, etc. to drive revenue growth.
Market Research & Competitive Intelligence
Conducts market and industry research to provide insights into market opportunities, competitors, and new trends to inform both marketing and BD activities.
Maintains extensive business development, marketing and competitor databases for each of the company’s business areas to target our BD and marketing efforts.
Brand Positioning
Ensures alignment between the company’s value proposition and marketing initiatives, increasing visibility across channels.
Team Leadership
Provides strong leadership to the team, fostering a high-performance culture and regular feedback.
Other duties as required to meet corporate objectives.
Education & Experience Required:
Business Degree. MBA or complimentary education is considered an asset.
14+ years’ progressive experience in leadership roles.
Strategic thinking and planning in all areas of business.
Proven business expertise and networking skills in the genetic medicine field.
Proven expertise in collaborative deal making focused on licensing and multi-year collaborations.
Proven experience and interest in adapting and thriving in an entrepreneurial, growing, and changing work environment.
Proven ability to build and lead an effective and engaged team to positive results.
Exceptional communication skills both written and oral: Communicates with respectful, honest, open, and objective communication.
Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time internationally to meet corporate objectives.
