About the role
- NCS Engineers is adding a new role, Integration Manager, with experience in industrial, utility or infrastructure automation, SCADA and instrumentation and controls integration. This is a supervisory position that will be instrumental in our water/wastewater department as we continue to grow and take on new projects. The Integration Manager will primarily be responsible for managing the programming and integration group personnel and projects. In addition, this role will be responsible for providing technical oversight and project management for projects in which NCS Engineers performs as automation and SCADA integrators. This role will report to the Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls Division Manager.
Qualification and Education Requirements:
- Minimum of bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science, industrial engineering, construction management or equivalent, or 6+ years of experience in programmable logic/automation controller (PLC), SCADA, and instrumentation and controls (I&C) experience.
- A minimum of 4 years’ experience in I&C, SCADA and Automation control in industrial, utility or infrastructure environments.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in project and personnel management.
Qualifications/Skills Requirements:
- Proficient with PLC programming of Rockwell Automation products
- Experience in SCADA development with Rockwell Automation, VTScada and AVEVA (Wonderware) products.
- Experience in specifying PLC, HMI and SCADA equipment and software.
- Working knowledge of the NEC/NFPA 70.
- Experience in cost estimation of integration work.
- Working knowledge of cost proposal writing.
- Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative
- Ability to frequently visit job sites for inspections, meetings, and construction coordination.
- Excellent ability to manage projects and coordinate with clients and contractors.
- Excellent people skills. Friendly with the ability to interact with various personalities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including detailed report preparation.

Preferred Education and Experience:
- Master’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science, industrial engineering, construction management or equivalent.
- 8+ years of experience in programmable logic/automation controller (PLC), SCADA, and instrumentation and controls (I&C) experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE) License in Arizona, or PE License in another state with the ability to get PE License in Arizona within 6 months.
- Proficient with PLC programming of Rockwell, Schneider, Automation Direct and Siemens products.
- Proficient in SCADA development with Rockwell Automation, VTScada and AVEVA (Wonderware) products.
- Extensive experience in specifying PLC, HMI and SCADA equipment and software
- Experience in hands on testing of level, flow, pressure, temperature and analytical transducing instruments, rotating machinery and power electronics.
- In-depth knowledge of the NEC/NFPA 70.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Revit.
- Experiencing in hands on component replacement with PLC, remote telemetry and motor control cabinets.
- Proficient in cost proposal writing.

Duties/Responsibilities:
· Direction and oversight of integration staff personnel on their day-to-day job duties and project work.
· Coordination with leadership to ensure proper management and delivery of project work.
· Resolving issues that may arise during integration work throughout construction and commissioning phases of projects.
· Tracking project milestones, monitoring quality, and providing assistance to integration team staff throughout the project.
· Visiting Client sites during design kickoff phase to develop job scopes for cost proposals.
· As needed: Review P&IDs, control schematics, networking diagrams, plan drawings, and details for construction plan sets produced by the electrical and I&C engineering design group, and review construction material submittals related to I&C, motor control and PLC equipment.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.

- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Prolonged standing and walking in an outdoor, hot climate, with uneven ground at times.
- Must be able to lift, up to 35 pounds at times.
