Nema is seeking a Clinical Outreach Lead to take the lead on driving all efforts to successfully build relationships with potential referring healthcare providers, hospital systems, and payor teams. This person will help implement systems & processes, a clinical outreach playbook in collaboration with the Growth Manager, and define metrics of success for the function. They will partner closely with Marketing & Patient Acquisition to determine the strategic channels and outreach methods that are most successful in influencing healthcare providers to refer patients to Nema. The expectation will be that this person is both a strategic thinker who helps create the vision for the Clinical Outreach function at Nema while also being a nimble, boots-on-the-ground executor to help drive referral volume.
This person will report to the Head of Marketing & Growth and work closely with the COO and CEO while collaborating cross-functionally in order to shape Nema’s clinical outreach growth, with an initial focus on driving referral volume with tactical efforts and structuring the department to scale across states.

Clinical outreach efforts:
Execute existing, and kick off new, boots-on-the-ground efforts to reach providers in current and new markets at-scale
Lead all direct outreach efforts to build relationships with healthcare providers (physicians, therapists, case managers & more) across private practices & clinical systems and drive referrals
Test new methods and channels for individual provider outreach in early markets to garner learnings for scaling provider relationships long-term
Focus on buildout of successful referral network in Nema’s newest market of California alongside other strategic markets including New York & New Jersey to drive referral volume while garnering insights to inform & apply best practices to future market launches
Oversee strategy for Nema presence and thought leadership at conferences, events, and speaking engagements
Identify targets and strategy for non-provider referral channels ie universities, workers comp orgs, employers etc
Systems & processes
Drive buildout of the Clinical Outreach channel including systems & processes, referral network operations, and team structure to set the business up for long-term success around referrals
Build & implement a ‘referral playbook’ to arm future hires and Clinical Outreach efforts to penetrate new markets
Determine metrics of success and data reporting structure for the function
Reporting & insights
Determine metrics of success for the channel and work with Growth Manager to implement data & reporting structure
Identify operational needs and partner with Growth Manager & Head of Product to implement out
Determine goal setting and KPIs for referral growth across markets
Track ROI of referral outreach efforts to determine future investments and efficiency of the channel long-term
5-7+ years working in healthcare services with an understanding of the key stakeholders in clinical settings and macro trends
3+ years in sales or business development roles (ideally focused on provider relationships) with a knack for building and fostering partnerships
Experience managing a team of 3+
Highly organized and can work autonomously in an early company environment; has an affinity for managing projects from start to finish and driving next steps
Strong analytical skills and data driven; very comfortable with quantitative analysis
Well rounded technical skills including high proficiency with Excel/Google Sheets and working with datasets and data visualization tools (e.g., Looker) for analysis
Comfortable in a fast-paced environment, subject to rapid change and innovation
Eager to roll up their sleeves and execute while understanding how their work fits into the bigger picture; can ask the right questions to create quality output
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
Passionate about the company’s mission and operates from a company-owner mentality to make Nema successful
Ability to travel locally approximately 2-3/month within a market and up to 1x/quarter for team offsites
3+ years working in mental healthcare services with familiarity of the trends in the behavioral health space
2+ years at an early stage startup (pre seed to series A for example)
Demonstrated experience in developing and executing successful growth strategies
Nema Health is a Series A stage company backed by top healthcare VCs. This is a full-time, exempt, salaried position reporting to the Head of Marketing & Growth. Compensation will be determined by the candidate's experience, with a base salary range of $140,000 - $160,000 and a supplemental bonus structure. The full-time compensation package will include competitive equity, unlimited PTO, a healthcare stipend, a 401(k) with matching, an annual education stipend, and paid parental leave. This role is remote and the candidate can be located anywhere in the United States
